Has anyone applied or interested in this school?

I ordered all of the first ones off the list from half.com for $180.00 total but the last one on the list is $210 everywhere so I'm just going to get it from the bookstore.

Really...$180.00!! That is soo good, maybe I can try to scrounge up the money for that so I won't have to use all of my financial aid on it :(!!

yeah - I thought it would be worth it. It will be nice to get that extra financial aid back in the spring. I have used half.com every semester - its always so cheap!

I ended up buying my books from TCC, and they needed a dolly to bring it out to my car! So many books!! My goodness, I need to get a rolling backpack I think! I hope we won't have to carry alot of them at one time!!

Hey guys,

I have withdrawn my acceptance to TCC as I have decided to go elsewhere. I hope this opens up a seat for someone on the waitlist. Although you might not be notified immediately since TCC is closed until the 3rd. Good luck to you all!!! Have a fantastic break :)

GatorGirl,

I am sorry we won't be studying together! But Good luck at a different school! May I ask why you chose another school? Not trying to be nosey, just curious?

Thank you, and Happy New Year!!

Thanks Noel. Its a really long story, but I will try to keep it as short as possible. I am going to be attending medical school in Mississippi. After graduating I realized I wanted to be a doctor. When I took the MCAT even though my score in all the science sections were way above average, my reading comprehension score was way below average. I thought there would be no way any school would accept me, but I applied anyway with no hope. I applied to TCC nursing because I love the healthcare field and wanted to stick with it. I figured I will do nursing for a few years, gain lots of experience and maybe this will allow me to be a better doctor in the future. I was surprised when I received interview invites from a few medical schools and actually got accepted into them! After much consideration I have decided it would be better for me to just go straight to medical school instead of taking a roundabout route. I guess this was a good lesson for me to never give up. I hope you all have a wonderful new year and maybe I will see you in a few years :)

yay!!! Class starts tomorrow!!

Hey Noel,

I responded to one of your other threads, but took note you stated there was an onscreen calculator. I called the TCC testing center about calculators and they stated we can't use one and there is not one on screen. Please advise. That surely will help my scoring. Is there conversions? Word problems, ratio's? etc.

Lisa,

If you are talking about the hesi there is a calculator on the screen.

Did you take the test at Tallahassee Community College and most recently? The testing people said calculators weren't allowed. I am thinking if they watch our monitor and see one is open they will stop the test. Also, since I have your attention and thank you so far; what did the math portion entail? Ratios, word problems, conversions, etc. Any other feedback is much appreciated. ~Lisa

I took the hesi entrance last spring i think or over the summer at TCC. The calculator is part of the actual test not the computer. It tells you to use the calculator if you need it. I honestly don't remember what kinds of problems were on it but it was basic math. I got 100 on the math portion but I studied beforehand. I wouldn't stress out to much on the math. And I don't think the test has changed so you should be able to use the calculator. The testing center problem just doesn't know that there is one with the actual test.
