Hi All

I have a quick question:

They gave us the uniform list but it doesn't say how many to buy. I wasn't sure if uniforms were needed for lecture. I do see the current nursing students wearing them around campus during the day but I am not sure if that is for labs or they are just stopping in before clincals. I ordered two sets but am wondering if I should have ordered more. What did you all do?

I ordered two uniforms as well. That is what the women who worked there said most people order. I think we only have to wear them on the days we have clinicals which is apparently two days a week. I am sure we will learn more on Wed. :-)

They just sent the handbook over email!

I think 2 should be good enough. I am just waiting for orientation to know for sure before I order. It says in the handbook "Uniforms are required dress for class, lab and clinical areas or traveling to and from these areas."

I just read the handbook, and got excited and nervous! Jeez, the math dosages grades are very strict!! I think I am going to purchase 2 unifroms, and the jacket because I am always cold!! A friend of mine who is already in the program at TCC, said she purchased 2 uniforms and they have been good enough for the first 2 semesters. So, I may buy another one after first semester! How long does it take for the uniforms to come in, once they are ordered? I should probably get on that!!

Me too!! Can't wait to find out our schedule!! Has anyone ordered books yet? I think I can defer them in the bookstore until Financial aid comes in? Anyone know?

I registered and I ordered books. I got mine through Amazon. It was cheaper since I am a cash paying student plus they will be here on Monday. I am so excited to look through them. I am contemplating getting another uniform because, even though she said 2 should be plenty, it sounds like we may need to be in them more than twice a week. I sure would like to see my schedule. We are trying to decide if we need to get after school care for our elementary aged children but I won't know until the first week. That part sucks but I am still super excited.

Can anyone tell me about how much all the books will cost? I'm using deferment so will likely will end up buying them from the book store unless I can afford to pay outright to get them offline.

caitsmi, I added them up and it is looking like around $550-$580, depending if you can get some used books or not. I am using Derfement as well, so I am going to get all my books tomorrow after work! I guess, I should bring a wagon with me to cart all of the books out of the store!! I bought Scrubs the other day with the jacket (2 sets) and it was 96$ from Helens..YIKES! O well. I know it's well worth it!!

I got all new books (the guy at the bookstore said they don't have used nursing books...not sure if thats true or not) and the total was about 611. Yikes! But the good news is I guess we won't have to get to many more books...at least thats what I'm hoping.
