Taking three sciences over the summer!!!

Published

Hello everyone! I'm taking the three sciences over the summer..human anatmoy, human anatomy II, and microbiology. I'm super nervous because i'm taking all of them at the same time. I'm worried that I will be stressed out or fail :uhoh21: and thats money lost in my pocket....ummm whats everyone's advice so i could pass these classes...if i pass i could finally be ready to apply to the nursing program..PLEASE SOMEONE GIVE ME YOUR BEST GUIDANCE LOL :nurse:

A year ago I took A&P 2, Microbiology and Pathophysiology during the same semester. It was absolutely horrible, and I was a complete wreck the whole time. I managed to do it, and did okay - but not great. I pulled an A and two B's which was a hit on my GPA, but I was lucky to have already been accepted to a program so my grades did not matter as much. Know your limits, and don't rush more than you have to. If you have a lot of responsibilities outside of school it is probably too much. But, if you don't have a family to take care of or a job, then you may be able to do great with some good time management skills. Either way good luck! :)

An A and two B's doesn't sound like a gpa hit to me.

For the OP, it will probably be a demanding summer, but you can do it.

I have used chem in fluid/electrolyte balance among many other things. We were required to take Gen Chem and Organic Chem before getting into the program. So, yes, all of my prereq/coreq courses have been put to use again in my nursing curriculum!

I wish I could say the same :/

My biochem class (which was actually called "intro to general, organic & biochemistry") was a year-long class split into two semesters. biochem I was your basic, general chemistry, and biochem II touched a bit on o-chem and then the rest was biochem material. we didn't even touch on fluid/electrolyte balance in that class. biochem II probably helped most with my science of nutrition class (which is a requirement for my program) but I have yet to really "use it" in my nursing classes.

Well if your already a good student and your willing to sacrifice alot of time then yes it is doable and doable well but if you know you don't pick up new material rapidly then it might be tough.

If you can do and get A's then its a good prep for the rapid fire learning style of nursing school. Start learning the basics of the sciences your doing now.

AH, the insanity begins! For me, it would be way too much. I also have 2 children though. Is there a reason why you want to get so much done over summer? Are you on a deadline? Giving up my whole summer to insanity would be too much for me to handle. I love the laid back hot days and the relaxing warm evenings. I know I wouldn't get it all done. Many can manage very well, I just know I don't want to. Good luck! :clown:
