Hello,
I've taken some of my prerequisties online, but now I'm about to start my science courses.
Cellular and Molecular Biology is my first course. If you've taking your science courses online, how was it?
Also in class, what was your experience like?
I'm not sure which way to go; I'd like to know your experience.
Thanks :)

Hi Barbara, imo I think online science courses are kinda risky choice, for these simple reason:
Without the lab component of the course, many schools will not transfer yr credit, if you choose to advance yr degree in the near future. That means you will be back to square 1...no fun. I prefer online courses, as I study and retain better with that kind of study, not to mention the flexibility that goes with it...
I took all my science courses in class. Had a great learning experience. It all depends on the instructor, and having a good lab partner. Good luck with yr choice:)
Thanks Joy you've been very helpful :)

Most schools do not distinguish online courses from regular courses on the transcript. You should investigate this before deciding to take online courses at any specific school. I prefer in person classes due to the easier accessibility of the instructor for help when you need it. It is sometimes better to be able to interact in person rather than through the internet or on the phone. Online courses usually involve more work in general due to the nature of how the course is structured. But convenience will make up for this in most cases.
Is true that most schools do not distinguish online courses from regular courses on the transcript, I guess were it becomes tricky is when the course is being evaluated for transfer by the registrar of yr/the prospective school, who tends to review the course description from the catalog of the previous school awarding credit. I agree you should investigate this before deciding to take online courses at any specific school:)
Thank you both so much!! I've spoken with one of my potential Biology professors. She told me not to take any science courses online; it's diffcult for students understand the concepts of Biology. She defintely didn't recommend taking online science courses. :)
Thanks again for being so helpful!!

I personally wouldn't take sciences courses online. Not to knock anyone who has but I've seen on some college websites that online science courses are not acceptable when transferring credits to BSN programs.
Hi Missy,
What colleges are they? I never knew that personally; very good to know!!
Thanks alot : )
