Taking nursing pre-reqs online vs community colleges

Published

I am planning to apply to an accelerated BSN-to-MSN program (I did not major in nursing as an undergraduate). The prerequisites that I still need to take are anatomy and microbiology. I live in NYC and work full-time. Would you recommend taking these courses online or at a community college? Which schools/online programs do you recommend in NY?

How can you take lab courses on-line?

I am like you in that I have considered switching careers to nursing and have looked into applying to accelerated bsn programs (I have a BS in a non nursing field). I work full time and have family obligations so I am looking into taking online courses through SUNY learning network. Based on my understanding, labs are completed with a lab kit that students must purchase so that labs could be done at home, at least this is what I was told when I emailed one of the schools offering online science courses.
