Taking notes

Published

Anyone has any tips on note taking I usually end up writing everything and it stresses me out because I know I don't need to but I am afraid that I will miss something important

Are the notes printable? Are there slides? I am personally a slow note-taker and I find that it leaves me paying little attention to the professor. If you want, you could get some sort of recording device. While you should ask before using one, you'll find they'll be much more careful with their words and you probably won't want to be "that person." If you do that you can carefully transcribe notes when you get home and only write down the emphasized things the professor says.

Hope that helps.

Does your instructor use power points, or are you just taking notes as the instructor speaks? If it is power points, ask the instructor if you can have a print off of them. Or if it is only a verbal lecture I would do like the PP suggested and use a recording device.

I get the power points for each class and if I hear, you need to know this, I write it down. any extra stories they tell I write things down from those, there's always a reason for the story. If they point out a table or a box from the text I write that down. I rely on those power points.
