I think that you need to read some of the other posts here on the International forum. Are you planning on staying in the US after taking the exam? Be aware that it will be at least 4 1/2 months before you will legally be able to work, provided that you have passed the NCLEX. It is not going to be be anything instant, and if someone tells you otherwise, run as fast as you can from them. There is no other legal way. Only the one way.
Do you already have approval from Illinois to sit for the exam?
Thanx..I'm still surfing the site for more information regarding my inquiry.I'm not really planning to stay there unless, of course I'm "luckily" hired. Actually, I haven't applied yet. I'm still weighing the pros and cons of my decision. But is it okay to take the exam provided i go back to the Philippines after 6 months?
May I also add that Illinois doesn't accept IELTS but TOEFL and you still need the Credential Evaluation Service (CES) from CGFNS.
Search this forum for the websites. I know I've posted something like this complete with links.
In addition, I suggest to complete first the requirements for the Illinois BON to sit for the NCLEX THEN weigh the pros and cons. There are some applicants that waited for 4-6 months just for the CES plus you still need the TOEFL. Just my opinion.

Hi! I'm new here and I really think that this is a great site especially for new nurses like me. I just passed the IELTS late last year and I'm planning to take NCLEX in Chicago. Is it possible to take the exam using a tourist visa? Are there other requirements that I need to pass regarding my visa? Thanx and a prosperous new year to all of you..God Bless!
