I just found out 2 days ago that I failed the nclex for the 2nd time. I am super frustrated. I finished school on Oct. 2011.
I took the nclex the first time on Dec. 28th, 2011. It stopped at 75 questions. I had studied using 2 review books the school had given us.
I just took it again on May 23rd. It stopped at 95 questions. This time I used the Helen Feuer audio cds to study. I felt more prepared than the 1st, yet I still failed.
I live in FL so my last chance is the 3rd time. I need to pass it this time for sure. I need some advice on what has worked for you to pass. I heard about HURST, is it worth it for $300? I'm getting desperate, I really need some help. Thanks in advance.

I did Hurst and loved it. Maybe you should apply to a state that doesn't limit your NCLEX tries. Not saying you are going to fail, but that is probably causing you some stress when you are taking the test.
Good luck!

My favorite nclex study books for my Lpn was the NCLEX Lpn Made Incredibly Easy. I plan on using the RN one when I get closer to taking my boards. I love that they give the rational with the answer so it helps remind me why that's the answer.

I have not taken the NCLEX yet but many of my friends that have swear by judy Miller videos and the Saunders review books. I used the Saunders book for my first Hesi and it was great. I am not sure if your school has the Judy Miller Videos but they are really comprehensive. I supplement them with case studies pretaining to the topic of the video I watched. Good Luck and let us know what you use and how you did! ^*^*^*^*
P.S. I attend a Hurst review at a conference and it was very helpfull as well.

I am curious, what school did you attend in Florida?
I went to MDC and I am right now studying for the boards....I am so nervous to fail that I think that is stressing me out more.
I graduated the last week of April and I plan to take the exam end of July, giving me a good three months to study.
I am doing the ATI; which the school provided, but they also have a prep course that costs $250 for us and of course the Kaplan that $499, I cannot afford either at this time. So I will rely on SAunders, Kaplan Strategies book and the Delegation Prioritization book.
Does it tell you what areas you failed at so that you can review on that?

Hi why is last chance for u? Is limited to take exam in FL?
I went to Keiser. Is the $250 prep course available to anyone? It did tell me what areas but its very broad, nothing specific. I would suggest you focus a lot on prioritization and delegation. I say a lot of that.
I think after 3 times then I have to do some kind of remedial course.

I did a HURST LIVE review, and then used my Kaplan book and Lippincott's book. I know everyone swears by Saunders, but my teacher told us Saunders was too easy, and that if we wanted to pass we needed to use a harder study quide/book. I took my boards yesterday. Shut off at 75 questions and I am getting the good pop up. I hope you gind the right study tools for you, so your next time taking the test is a success. You can do it!
