Taking the NCLEX Question

Posted

Hi Guys! Current nursing student, 3 semesters left. Anyways, I am wondering what the opinion is on taking NCLEX a week or two after I graduate, but then waiting 2 or 3 months to get a job after (hopefully) passing! I know that isn't the norm, but would it be okay to do that?

NCLEX a week or two after graduation? That would be a lightening fast turn around time for the state BoN and the school to get everything processed to get you the ATT and then to be able to schedule a test date.

Yes I know, most students who graduated from my school last semester were able to take it within two weeks.

you might consider looking for employment as soon as possible after passing the NCLEX. I say this because in most areas of the country if you could even GET a job in 2 to 3 months you'd be doing pretty well. you might luck out and find a job in a matter of weeks, or depending on what state you're in, it could take many months. What is the job market like in your area? That should tell you whether you can afford to wait or not.

I just wanted to stop by and Whoop Whoop.

I second what RNsRWe suggested.
