So I took my nclex pn last Wed for the 6th time, and I didn't get the "good pop up" that everyone on here talks about so right then I figured I failed the test. So I waited 48 hours to get the quick results and I didn't pass. So now I am going to have to take it again for the 7th time, is there anyone else out there that has taken this test multiple times????? I feel so stupid, but I am not going to give up I am determined to pass this test, it just sucks puttting out the money everytime to take it. It's not like I didn't study because I did and I really gave it my all, but I guess I will just have to study harder, I just really want to get through this and someday pass this test. It means so much to me, and it really makes me feel bad when I read everyone's post on here and everyone is so excited that they passed, I wish that was me. Everytime I take this test also I get 85 questions and a lot of people on here say that they passed at 85 so I must just be doing horrible, does anyone have any advice?

Keep at it. There have been people who have posted on here who passed after 8, 9, and I believe, even 10 times. Persistence is going to get it for you.

I would get some sort of review course. Someone I know did the online Hurst review... it was cool. Online lectures and tests and what not... I am not sure if it is available for PN... but I believe Kaplan has something similar for PN. Also, I bought ExamCram NCLEX-PN and it has a topical review of everything as well as 2 200 question practice tests and a CD with more questions.
The one thing I didn't know until recently is what kind of questions are on the NCLEX. Basically, the NCLEX doesn't test comprehension. It assumes you already have the knowledge. So books like Saunders, which are great for testing your comprehension, don't really prepare you that well for the NCLEX because they aren't the same types of questions. I would reccomend buying Kaplan NCLEX-PN Strategies For The Practical Nursing Licensing Exam book because it taught me just what I told you before and it also taught me how to break down questions so that I can get to the right answer.... and then I'd also reccomend buying the other book I mentioned ExamCram NCLEX-PN because the questions are also "NCLEX style", it has tons of questions and it has the topical review to go with it.
Also- maybe you have test anxiety or are very easily distracted. You should talk to your Dr. about possible medications to help control your anxiety or ADD if it is determined one of those are the issue. And I believe testing centers have to accomodate you if you are diagnosed with ADD or anxiety by letting you test in a room by yourself. I am not 100% sure on that, though. I know my school had to do things like that.
Good luck!!!

Thank you!!! I really needed to hear this! I'm in the same boat. I've taken it 6 times and then I broke my ankle and had a air cast boot on for 5months and didn't want to have to travel to take my test in another state with the boot. I hope to have the same outcome and get my RN license. 7th time is hopefully the charm for me too.

hi,
I took my nclex today the 3rd time. I studied from nclex PN mastery the first time and failed it. Second time I bought U-world and did all the Qbank and took the post test. I took the nclex and failed again. I was so disappointed but I didn't give up. I repurchased U world again for 6 months and I studied hard straight for 3 months and did the 2 post exams on U-world, I got really high score and I felt prepared after doing so many questions on U-world. I even bought the nursing delegation and priority book and did the question and I studied from ATI comprehensive book. I studied like crazy and felt prepared. SO today I took my exam the 3rd time and it stopped at 85. I felt prepared and I walked out of the facility confident that I passed but later when I got home I tried the person view trick and it didn't give me the good pop so since that idk what I am feeling. I sure do feel really stupid because I didn't fail nursing school and graduated but I can't seem to pass this test. I don't know what to do anymore. I will appreciate if anyone recommend anything else to study. These are the study material I have used so far:
1. NCLEX PN mastery
2. U-world
3. ATI comprehensive book
4. Priority and delegation book from barnes and nobles.
5. NCLEX PN book
6. I also did the free hurst review with 25 question but it didn't seem to help me much.
I did learn a lot from u-world and don't want to give up on myself and u-world but i am also feeling emotionally sos stressed out that idk what else to do. I will appreciate if anyone tells me what else I can use besides these to pass my exam.
Thank You

Hi Karen!!
Listen to Mark K audios first. Especially the prioritization. AMAZING. It teaches critical thinking.
1.Mark K
2. Uworld and/or Nclex Mastery
This will be ALL the study material you need.
*If you may need additional practice PDA *
3. Set up a 90 day study schedule
4. Practice active learning with the rationales and explain outloud why one is correct and why the others are incorrect.
