So I have been out of school for a few months now. I graduated lpn school in late August and its now late Novemeber and I'm taking my nclex next week. I haven't been over studying but I have been going over notes every night for about an hour or so. Should I be studying excessively...or is this slight studying better? I just don't want to over do it. The more studying I do the more nervous and stressed I get...so confused

I think the amount of time you've been studying is just perfect! If you study too much, you're bound to freeze up or choke on the nclex, especially if you get more and more nervous with the more you study, it's best to do just enough, but careful to not overdo it! I wish you the best of luck! I hope you do well! Let us know! :) Thoughts will be with you!

the amount of studying you do depends entirely on how much you know, how much you can remember or "figure out," and your level of confidence.
for me, even though I worked hard in school and did well, I still felt I had to prepare for nclex. we used saunders in school, the 2-ton, green nclex review book w/the 3700 bonus question CD.
for 3 wks prior to nclex, I went over the 3700 questions. doing about 200-300/day. got a good feel for the types of questions, wording that was used, most likely subjects, etc. I also memorized lab values, drug classes, and other stuff.
it wasn't till after all that review, that I felt prepared.
good luck!

HEY!! I graduated in aug too! I also took my NCLEX on Oct. 4th and found out that I passed the very next day. Everyone is different when it comes to studying. To me you should like you have been doing it right. This is my two cents:
Know your lab vaules
Know dosage calculations
Practice answering questions that gives you rationales ( I did about 1,000 of those but for me I did it for my peace of mind )
I'm sending you good vibes for this test. You will also have mixed emotions while you take this test. You will feel great about some questions, you will feel so-so about others, some you will be plain guessing, and a couple will make you want to cry. These feelings are normal. Just focus on what you are reading and make sure you understand what they are asking.
Also it doesn't matter what number you get to. I've have a few classmates who made it to 205 questions and still passed.
Remember, just breathe. You'll do awesome. ^_^ Sending good vibes your way
