I graduated in 2014 in Texas, where we are allowed 4 years to test. I let my time expire and I'm now wanting to take my NCLEX. I spoke with the BON and was told I could possibly test in a different state and then once passed I can endorse my license to Texas. Is this a possibility??? Also, what states allow testing out-of-state?
In Texas, I would have to take an entire nursing program again in order to test.

Not sure if this is will help...but I graduated 6 years (almost 7 years ago) from Nursing school... I failed my NCLEX and gave up! Luckily, in Pennsylvania they allow you to take it after this many years. So could you take it in PA or would you have had to go to school here too? I'm really not sure how that works.

That is not correct. Please see this link: https://www.dos.pa.gov/ProfessionalLicensing/BoardsCommissions/Nursing/Documents/Applications and Forms/FAQ-tpp_exam.pdf
Particularly,
Quote 17. Is there a deadline for taking the NCLEX® for the first time? Yes. Candidates must take the NCLEX® for the first time within one year of completing their nursing education programs. To take the NCLEX after this deadline, express permission must be granted from the Board based upon the candidates’ demonstration that they were prevented from taking the examination by emergency, illness, military service, licensure in another state, or other good cause shown.

What isn't correct? I did graduate almost 7 years ago from a nursing program in PA and took the NCLEX and failed it (That was within a year of graduating)...then I didn't take it again until almost 6 years later.

But that isn’t OP’s scenario. They never took NCLEX so PA is not an option.

Oh!! Okay, for some reason I assumed she took it then never went to take it again! Sorry!! Good Luck, maybe you can write to the BON and convince them to allow you to test!!
