i graduated this past may 09 and took boards june 24. i didn't pass and my job has agreed to work with me in hopes that i will stay with them. so, i'm working 8-5 monday thru friday and all i'm doing is studying until i retake boards august 14th!! i really need help! i have the saunders book and am going to get the 2010 kaplan review book this weekend, but i feel like i'm missing something important. my job has been so great in working with me and not only do i not want to fail for my own reasons but i don't want my work to think they wasted their time on me. i am a great nurse! i know that, but i don't know how to answer questions. i felt as though the nclex didn't reflect my knowledge and competency as a rn. any advice would be much appreciated!!katie
me too u need a study buddy? i will study with u?
i'm sorry to hear that.. i know exactly how ya feel. i stopped at 89 questions! i had a ton of priortizing, and infection control! i have heard alot about the saunders books and kaplan and i'm about to try those, but there is a good website that is also real helpful and they are free questions. its www.nurse.nonoy.net and then click on the tab that say free tests.
i haven't taken the kaplan review. i did a few online it was nclextestanswers.com and rnquiz.com. they were somewhat helpful but what i think is the best so far is my saunders book. it really breaks down the systems. im going to get a kaplan review book this weekend. i heard that was good in helping you read the question and figure out how they want you to answer it.. we will see though.
you said you take boards this thursday? is it your first time?
