Hello all,
(I posted this in the male nursing student forum but not sure if I should have. Oh well, I'm sure the moderators will correct meJ)
Well, I finally took the leap; I made the decision to pursue nursing. I already have a bachelor and will start my prerequisites for nursing school on June 2nd. For the first summer session, I will be taking A&P I, human growth and development, and speech. My A&P class is 8 weeks long, and I really have no idea as to what to expect from it, however the speech and development classes are only 4 weeks long. I am excited and nervous all at the same time. I live in Houston and will be taking these classes at a community college.
If there is anyone who would like to chime in with advices, be it good or bad, I would love to hear it. I will keep you guys/gals updated as to how it all goes.
A thousand miles journey begins with a first step... (deep breath) here goes...

You made a good decision with your classes. A&P is really time consuming. Speech was an easy class. I would recommend continuing that trend. In houston schools your science gpa's are really important. Some people are able to take huge loads of hard classses. I chose to take a little longer to ensure I would have a good GPA. I got into nursing school my first try. If you don't have any kids, or don't have to work than you could probably take on a bit more. Good luck.
