I take the HESI Evolve Entrance tommarow, and I am soo nervous. I need to do really well, in order to even compete for a seat in my program!! Wish me luck, please I'll need it! Good Luck to everyone else too who has to take it soon!!
I did OK, I got 83.54% a score good for my college (required 75% ). I studied a lot and I was expectiong to get a higher percentage (is not like I am not happy with what I got) but it was so different from the study guide from the vocab section of the study guide I had only four words that is it ( I memorized all of them) and the context did not give a lot of clues, one ether knew the word or not. Te passages in the reading and comprehension were boring and because the typing is so small, and the screen was so bright it would make one fill tired from reading. I know it sounds like I am complaining a lot but this problems were the ones I had it. I would suggest for anyone to know the homonyms not only lay vs lie, but form vs. from, personnel vs personal, too vs to vs two and so on (find exercise with this on the Learning Express web). The questions that were asked in the passages were not direct like what is the main idea, or what do we infer from this passage. I had this problems because English is my second language, maybe most people do not have but I did. Math really know what numbers are bigger ex: which number is bigger 0.005, 0.03, 0.6, 0.98; roman numerals were easy :19=IXX, 17=XVII,6=VI(do not confuse with 4=IV), military time was 11am=1100, or 4pm=1600. Words in the vocab were: patent, concave, labile, ominous. I hope this info will help someone. Good lack to all of you.

Hi, Can you please tell me the title of the study guide from Evolve, there are a lot of books offered and I want to e sure I order the right on.
Thanks a bunch!!
The studyguide my school recommended is Admission Assessment Exam Review 2nd Ed. Evolve reach powered by HESI. ISBN 978-1-4160-5635-5. I got mine from Barnes and Noble online for $31.68 and that included tax. Much cheaper than Amazon or going to the store itself. I got a slight online discount that the store would not give me, go figure. I'm hoping that reading that book front to back and taking my summer/fall classes will give me an edge over the other nursing students cuz I'm not exactly "young" and haven't taken chem/bio since HS. I take the test this coming Dec. They take the top 100 and I was told about 150 will be taking the test. Hope this helps others that use the HESI as the entrance exam for the nursing program.

I too have to take the HESI exam, and have been told to study from chapters 1-4 only. There will also be a calculator for the math portion and it is 50 questions and 50 minutes for that part of the test. I am so super nervous about the test as well. The math is what has me the most. I graduated school in 1993, and joined the ARMY in 2003. So it's been a while since I have actually practiced the math skills that were taught to me in school. I'll be taking the test in California for a vocational school.
