People have mentioned so many types of test and honestly its confusing me on what to actually study. The school is Lake Area Technical Institute. They said for me to purchase Kaplan Nursing Entrance Exam: Your Complete Guide To Getting InTo Nursing School.......it doesn't say what kind of test it is so I have no idea, on math , anything beyond multiplying fractions, ratios and decimals I'm in huge trouble and the science section is , in my opinion, ridiculous. There are VERY FEW sections about actual heath science, I'm stressing, I want to be a nurse not a scientist or astronaut. This is for practical nursing to get my LPN degree then move on to RN. Does anyone know which test it would be, what it would consist of and if there happens to be a practice test anywhere?

I'm not entirely sure if this is what you are asking, but the test is called "Kaplan Nursing School Entrance Exam." If you have the study guide, that should give you some indication as to what types of questions will be on the exam. Not sure if there are any practice tests (I've never taken this exam), but I would definitely try googling to see what you can find! Good luck!
I have spoke with my admissions rep and he said he doesn't know what the test is called or what it consists of
Thanks!!!

I am taking the KAT test (Kaplan Admission Test) in April. The school recommended Kaplan study guide as well. Other common tests are the NET, HESI, and TEAS. It doesn't make sense that the advisor does not know what test is given. I would call back and speak to someone in the School of Nursing and try to get a better answer.
I think all the tests cover the basics of reading comprehension, science, and math. So, if they told you to use the Kaplan study guide, it covers the basics. At the school I'm applying to, they only look at the math and reading scores. That is something else you should try to find out so that you don't waste time studying anything you don't need to.
Good luck on the test!
Thanks I will give them a call on Mon
You could always call the school to confirm the name of the test, but they provide that information on the school's website...

Each school has different areas that they focus on. I had the same book and spent a lot of time studying unnecessary info. Our entrance test focused on basic math, including fractions, decimals and basic algebra; reading comprehension; and sciences mainly A&P with a little bit of pathophysiology and microbiology. I think if you focus on the core knowledge and review the A&P, you should do fine :) Good Luck!
That is exactly how I'm hoping the test is
