Hello, I have just completed my first semester of nursing school. I did real well and I'm looking forward to my second semester. However, this is an ADN program and I will be looking to go back to school after graduation to bridge to BSN. I am out of school in the summer and was thinking about getting my government classes out the way. That would only leave me with two math classes and a literature class after I graduate. Would you suggest taking government in the summer or would you save it all until after graduation and just enjoy your break?

I am thinking of doing the same thing. I'm starting my first ADN semester in January and I plan on bridging as well. I have a lot of prerequisites to take for the BSN so I was thinking of taking 2 classes this summer. I am going to wait to see how I feel later this semester. If I am feeling burned out, I won't do it, I'll just enjoy my summer. That will probably drive me mad though!

really up to you of course, but I preferred to stay in the student mode and get all my classes out of the way. Otherwise I felt I wasted the time. If you need a break then you should take it

I've been taking courses non-stop and frankly, when this summer rolls around, I'd really like a break. However, the more I knock out now, the less I have to do later. I'm also trying to get pre-reqs for PA/NP done as well as BSN. I'm kinda burned out on school but I know it'll be worth it to have all these classes done! It's much easier to keep going when you're in "student mode" :)
Good luck to you!

I took courses this past summer during the two summer sessions, and I'm glad I did, because that means that when I graduate, I'm DONE (at least until my master's program!). I'd say if you can knock it out in the summer, go for it.
