Tacoma Community College (TCC) Winter 2025

I'm starting this thread for those of us who've applied to the Winter 2025 TCC ADN program and are awaiting a decision. After reading that applicants with 9 of the 14 possible points didn't get into the Fall 2024 cohort (22 students), I'm feeling pretty defeated. I've spent the last two years building what I thought was a competitive application (e.g., excellent grades, high TEAS score, CNA experience) only for other factors beyond my control to be given more weight. I understand the intent, but it's frustrating that there are so few options in the south sound area. Anyone else feeling this way?

I also applied for Winter 2025 (& fall 2024). It seems that 9 was the cutoff for accepted applicants because someone in the Fall 2024 forum with 9 points did get in, while another (with 9 points) did not. During an info session, I asked how they determine how to break ties, and they replied that it was unfortunately privileged information. I'm also feeling discouraged, so much so that I am highly debating if I should take 15 random credits at TCC this quarter so that I'll have an extra point if I have to reapply for the Spring 2025 cohort. 

Good luck to both of us. Hopefully, there will be fewer applicants this cycle, and the cutoff point will be lower than last cycle. Please keep us updated, I will do the same.

I sent in an application as well. Good luck to everyone! 

How does the application work? I turned mine in on the 31st but I see that the application is still open? 

It's my first time applying so I don't expect to get in. I have 6 points right now and am hoping to get previous applicant point for Spring 2025. I'm currently working on my volunteer hours and 30+ credits.

Besides the application submitted email, did anyone else get a confirmation email for the application? Or are we in the dark until they send acceptance or rejection?

I have not gotten anything else on the application besides that it was submitted. The fall they sent an email saying they had a high volume, but that wasn't until a little bit after applications closed. We will see if we get another one of those ! Maybe not!

At this point, I think we just wait patiently for decisions to be made. I doubt I have enough points, so I signed up for two more classes at TCC this quarter and plan to reapply in December. If that's still not enough, I'll have to go wherever I'm accepted unfortunately (TCC has always been my first choice).

Update for anyone who might be lurking or applying in the future... There were fewer applications for Winter 2025 than Fall 2024, but still a "very large number" to review. It sounds like we'll hear back in mid to late October. This feels like forever, but it's only about 8 weeks after the application deadline. Good luck, all!

Has anyone heard anything? I feel like today they should let us know.... But I'm getting nervous we won't :-/
