Hi allnurses,

Is there anyone out there applying to Tacoma Community College for Fall/Winter 2016/2017? Or that has applied last year? What is considered a competitive score for the point system? What was the scores they let in last year? I know 100 pts is the highest score but how low are they accepting into the program? Also I would like to know if your currently in the RN nursing program if you find it a positive or negative experience? I heard they have a new building and new equipment. Do you think it is a good program? Any feedback is appreciated. I saw previous threads on Tacoma Community College but would like some more recent comments. Thank you.

I'm in for fall 2016 as well! Congrats! My weighted score was only 60. Glad it was a lottery...

Congrats, when do you guys have orientation? It seems like you will have to get things done pretty quick.

New to this forum, but I'm in for Fall 2016. Our orientation is next Wednesday and I agree, it seems like we've got a lot to do in a very short amount of time!

Did you all reply to the email? I have a question about that pre-orientation paper we sign: did you print it, sign it, scan it, attach it to an email and send it back? Or, was there some way to electronically sign it?

I did. I sent two separate emails, the first one stating "I accept" and the second one with the signed pre-orientation form. I signed it and scanned it, I'm not sure if there is a way to do it electronically. Hopefully that works since it wasn't explicitly stated otherwise.

Did you get a email receipt stating received for your "I accept" email or we just have record in our sent emails?

Funny! I wish I was starting Winter just so I could get some stuff done in my personal life first, but I'm not going to be picky. Just happy to have made it in the lotto!

I didn't get a reply back, but I will keep a record. I'm hoping I get another email before the cutoff on the 29th, maybe something with my pre-orientation packet.

When you start in Winter 2017 when is your orientation?

Orientation is November 17th. Yeah I am so happy to make lotto! I count my blessing. This does give me time get my life organized and save some money.

I sent in my "I accept..." email on Monday night, but never got a response. Did you?

Ha, I also was hoping for winter start so that I could save up some money beforehand since I won't be working as much during the school year, but I can't complain. I'm very happy.

No I haven't seen any emails responses back or new emails yet. I'm anxiously awaiting more information!

Did you guys get a list of supplies, equipment and uniforms needed? I sure would like to get a jump on things beforehand if I could. I know there is still so much to do...but I thought if I could get started on the basics it would help.
