Hi... I was just accepted into the TCC Nursing Program. Does anyone out there have any advice or information to offer? I'd appreciate hearing about the program, instructors, clinicals, etc. Thanks! Oh, one more thing... if you are aware of any specific information that would be beneficial to review prior to starting, please let me know.
Just remember, all; when you get in the program, grades do NOT MATTER. You get a 4.0 in labs and theory. great. Fail to do well in clinical, you are out. Be prepared for a bit of a paradigm change.
Good luck, folks. Keep in mind that if you get in or not does not mean that you will not be a nurse or a good one. Don't give up.
I know pre requisite grades won't matter when I get into the program. Until then, grades are all that matter, after my family & my job! It just urks me that people can repeat classes to bring up their gpa since fall is the last term based on grades. I know some people who have repeated inorganic chem, microbiology and are now in a&p 2! I could not afford to re do classes if I don't get high enough grades the first time around. I almost feel like I need to be apologizing to someone for trying to get all these classes done in only one academic year when other students have been trying to get good enough grades for two or three years. Thanks for listening to me vent, I'm sure you all know how stressful taking your last pre-req can be.
Hey everyone! I've been reading this blog for a while now. I just finished up my last pre-req for the nursing program at TCC. I'm a little nervous because i just got my final grade and I got an A- which means my gpa is a 3.91. I'm just wondering if anyone knows if the TCC nursing program has ever accepted anyone with this gpa. It makes me a little sad because i have busted my buns for the last 2 years. I'm just scared for the new admissions process in the winter because my chances of getting picked for the nursing lottery are about as good as winning the Washington state lottery. If anyone could tell me ANYTHING i would appreciate it so much! I'm so nervous, but it would be nice to know now so i dont get my hopes up! EEK!!

Don't worry...we will know soon. I applied for the Fall of 2009 as well and am so nervous!! I don't want to have to rely on the lottery either. My advisor noted that the lowest GPA last fall admission was 3.94, but 3.87 in the spring. Unfortunately, they don't have the Spring admission anymore. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Let me know when you find out...and I will do the same for you if you want. I just like to have someone to stress with. Haa!
Nothing yet!! I emailed my advisor asking if she knew anything about when we should expect something. She said the first week of Aug. (this week!) Tomorrow is Thursday. They found out on Thursday last year. Hopefully we will hear something. Don't worry. I am checking my email 100+ times a day. AHHHHH! Let me know if you get anything.

Hi! Yes, I am re-taking Psych 100. I only have three more weeks left, thank God! It can be quite frustrating to know that there may be 24+ students with 4.0's and then the lottery system will take affect. I have worked really hard to have to accept I may not be accepted with a 4.0. However, with that said. I am still applying and so should you. Congrats on getting a 4.0 thus far, that is a wonderful accomplishment. Just submit your app and hope for the best. My advisor noted that 3.94 was the lowest GPA that they accepted for last term. Good Luck and don't worry too much. There is nothing that you or I can do at this point accept thinking positively. Keep me posted!!
