Anyone here applied/applying to TCC's Fall 2020 ADN program? I'm last minute scrambling to apply after getting waitlisted at Olympic College. (Loooong story, I actually got accepted but I somehow glossed over my acceptance email because I was expecting a letter sent via USPS still per their website. Not much I can do about it at this point.). Last I checked, I'm #5 on their waitlist/alternate list so I'm not holding my breath.
Anyway, I won't qualify for the lottery at this time due to not having taken Bio 160, but it sounds like they have actually had less than needed for a lottery for a couple application cycles. Therefore, you can apply without having all support courses finished! You basically are on the alternate list after all lottery applicants who didn't get selected. I think I'm competitive other than that, though all of my classes were taken at another school which loses some points. I figure it's worth a shot! I plan to take Bio 160 in the Fall so I can qualify for the lottery in the Spring, but I'm still also going to apply for Winter. Anyone else applying while missing a support course? I'm taking the TEAS tomorrow, I did decent on the two practice exams, so I'm crossing my fingers. Are you guys applying to any other schools? I'm applying to UW's BSN and ABSN as well once they're open.

Hi, I submitted my application last week for TCC Fall 2020! My pre-reqs are all complete but not the CNA part. I completed my training class but missing clinical hours (nursing homes are not allowing students to do their clinical due to covid-19). So I am not sure whats gonna happen. Hope I get in. Good luck!! :)

Good luck! I’ve been a CNA for 7 years (please someone save meeee) so I have that done at least. Will the state allow you to take the CNA test without all of your clinicals? I hope they’ll be understanding due to the current situation. It looks like if you can’t test due to COVID, TCC will be flexible (based on what theIr website says). I wanted to just test out of Bio 160 but they told me I need to be enrolled in at least 5 credits at TCC to challenge it and I’m not currently enrolled. So I might as well just take it.
I did way better on my actual TEAS test than my practice exams, for anyone who hasn’t taken it and is worried!

I will be submitting my application this week. However, like the person above, I don't have my CNA completed due to Covid. Ugh, super frustrating! I don't know if they will deny my application until I complete it and who knows when I will be able to get it done, either! Who are you taking Bio 160 with? Curt is awesome if you haven't already signed up! I applied to PLU and Olympic and was rejected from both :( So, I sure hope I get a spot at TCC. Good luck to you!
@aoj Hi! Are you waiting to do clinical? or the test? I heard pearson Vue will resume their testings in August but for me I can’t even take the test due to not having the clinical. I wish they would waive the CNA part just for this quarter. ?
Mine is due to clinical ? I wish they would waive it, too!! Doesn't sound like it, though. I've e-mailed the department and based off their reply, it's going to remain a requirement. Who knows.. maybe there are others who are in the same boat as us which will cause them to reconsider. Here's hoping!
If they are keeping it as a requirement, just hope that they will at least keep us in the lottery drawing. I would be so disappointed if my name doesn't even get a chance at the lottery thing. ?

I'm gonna take it at OC cause I didn't see any availability at TCC in the Fall?? Otherwise I would totally take it at TCC! I'm only about 40 min away and the campus is lovely! Are you taking it in the Summer or did you already take it? I'm most likely gonna take it with Robertson at OC in the Fall since TCC doesn't seem to be offering it. I really hope they are lenient for you guys. These are (ugh) unprecedented times. You really should be considered for the lottery! I'm totally chill with not being in the lottery, I last second applied. It doesn't sound like Pearson Vue is even testing until after the deadline, and I bet the testing will be pushed out further due to current events.
I was really heartbroken when I missed my chance at OC (no, I'm still heatbroken, can't believe I got into the stinking program and messed it up. I got rejected from PLU when I was in highschool 6 years ago and rejected from OC last year. Only 2020 would allow be to be accepted and screw it up.) but on the other hand..I'm not confident about the idea of learning nursing online. So I'm telling myself maybe, just maybe, this is a blessing in disguise and this isn't a good climate to learn it.
I have already taken Bio 160 with Curt. I also took Micro with him. I think he’s an awesome teacher! I’m not sure if it was still available when I made the suggestion! I’d be super disappointed if I was in your shoes, too, but you’re right.. maybe it’s all a blessing in disguise. That’s how I’m trying to treat my two rejection letters as well. This whole year has been such a rollercoaster. I’m just anxiously waiting to hear if I qualify for the lottery or not. I hope they don’t take forever to get the emails out. Online nursing is probably not going to be the easiest but I don’t think I could handle ANOTHER rejection letter LOL
Hey, just an FYI - I just spoke with the director and she said that the clinicals MUST be done by Sept. 1st but we would still be entered in the lottery. Doesn’t seem like they’re going to budge. ?
@aoj Thanks for the info. But that doesn’t make any sense. How are we gonna do clinical if the nursing homes are not allowing visitors. My CNA program recommended getting nursing aid license and count working hours as clinical hours. But honestly, whose gonna hire me just for that 40 hours?! ?
I KNOW. That’s exactly my thought. No one will hire me as an NAR for a week LOL That’s what my CNA instructor suggested to me as well. This whole thing is a headache. If I get selected for the lottery but can’t meet that requirement I’m going to be so disappointed. Have you emailed the nursing administrator? Maybe if they hear from more people, they’ll realize how difficult it is right now
