T-shirt slogan for Intensive Care

Published

Hi everyone!

Does anyone have any creative ideas for a T-shirt slogan for intensive/critical care nurses. My unit is a mixed medical/surgical ICU at a fairly conservative hospital. I really wanted to design a shirt that says, "ICU nurses, here to save your a$$, not kiss it" BUT I don't think that is going to go over well.

For example, our cardiac unit recently used: "Cardiac Unit: Never misses a beat" (I would have said, "We got the beat" but I am a big dork).

Any ideas for ICU?

Thanks!

You can definitely waste an amazing amount of time there!!

I like the one you linked to, as well. Of course, I think some of these are a lot like some of the Youtube videos: if you think it's funny, you are for sure a medical professional. "Civilians" don't get it!

Thanks for everyone's suggestions! I will post the winning quote when I know what it is. Meanwhile, keep the suggestions coming! Thanks!

Call me old fashioned, but what happened to nurses wearing neat, clean cut scrubs? Where I work at, the T-shirt phenomenon has taken hold, but I think as "professionals" we should look professional in scrubs, not wearing T-shirts with logos. When was the last time you saw a doctor or lawyer or engineer or teacher or any sort of profession with respect wearing a t-shirt? I am not saying we have to go back to wearing all whites or skirts or even a hat, but on a serious note, what is with the t-shirts?

When was last time you saw a doctor or lawyer or engineer or teacher or any sort of profession with respect do what nurses do - stay on their feet for 12 hours in a raw without breaks, cleaning vomit and poop, being yelled at, punched and cursed? Let people have their fun. I personally love T-shirts for their comfort and nice fit, instead of pajama-like scrubs.

When I was in my last clinical rotation, I was in my pt's room when a guy came in and started talking to my pt. I was just talking with the pt - so I left the room. My clinical intructor asked me why I didn't stay in the room when the Dr. was there. I replied that he hadn't come yet. She brought me back to my pt's room and introduced me to my the oncologist. He was wearing old jeans and a t-shirt!

We have "priceless" t-shirts for our ER Unit.

Set of scrubs..........$40

Gas for the drive to work.........$50

Stethoscope......................$80

Saving someone's life...............Priceless

Then of course, it has the ER Logo for our hospital.

Maybe you could use something along those lines. They are VERY popular at the ER and we have had to order more several times this year.

Good Luck!

I came up with my ICU prayer, I think it would go well on a T-shirt...

"Dear Lord, please let my next admission be Intubated, Sedated, and Paralyzed. Amen." :D
