This textbook that I have does not explain the actual symptoms for septic shock versus MODS. Are they the same? This is for a 10 year old child...These are the symptoms/signs that I am coming up with....
1. Acute change in mental status.
2. Oliguria (renal).
3. Clinical evidence of bleeding.
4. Heart rate is too fast.
5. Fever
The things that I would want to watch out for are: the child's ventilation and oxygenation as well as check the child's electrolytes, glucose, BUN, creatinine, liver function, calcium, phosphorus and cardiac enzyme concentrations.
Am I on the right track or not so much? I've googled for the past hour and can't really seem to find the signs/symptoms for a child. Thanks for your help!

I think you are right. Septic shock often leads to MODS when untreated.
Thanks Daytonite!
