Hi all,
Has anyone taken the Sylvia Rayfield and Loretta Manning NCLEX review class or heard anything about it? They are offering the program to my class and I am considering it since it is cheaper than KAPLAN and the teachers are all advanced degree nurses vs. KAPLAN which does not guarantee nurses. Please reply if you've taken or heard anything (positive or negative) about it. Thanks.

I have their NCLEX-RN 101 book and really like it. I'm sure their review course is really good.
When you pick a review course, pick what is comfortable for you. If your weakness is content, you may want to take a review course that focuses more on content then test taking. If your not weak in content, then take a course like Kaplan that focuses really hard on test taking skills.
Most courses focus on test taking but each one seem to place an emphasis either way.
Have you looked at their website http://www.icanpublish.com/nclex

Hi,
Thanks for replying... My weakness is a little of both, and from their course description, it seems like they do a good job of integrating both content and strategies. I am taking tons of questions right now form different sources and the highest I have ever gotten is 77%. Good thing is I still have time till June to keep prepping. Thanks again

I went to a seminar Sylvia Rayfield held at one of the nursing conferences. She was excellent! I was going to take her nclex course if I didn't pass the nclex on the first time. Luckily I passed. I also have a couple of her books & they are great. Let me know if you take her course & how it was. Good luck to you on the nclex!
