Switching RN licenses from Ohio to California?

U.S.A. California

Could someone please offer me some help on how I would switch an RN license from Ohio to California? I am considering applying to a school in Ohio, but ultimately want to work in California. I'm not sure how likely it is to have a license switched, and what exactly I would need to do. I read that I would have to pay some fees, but I also read that I would need to take some kind of test. Do schools let you take the NCLEX at the state in which you'd like to practice? Thanks for any information! :)

To the OP: I just did the same thing you are wanting to do. I graduated in June of this year and sent in all my transcripts from my schools after graduation- along with other required paperwork. I waited about 3 1/2 weeks and called the BON and spoke with my evaluator and had my ATT the same day. Took the NCLEX August 25th and am awaiting my license in the mail. What school/area do you live in? I went to school in Cincinnati and while in school I called to find out about educational requirements. The operator I spoke to told me that what they really care about is that your school is if course accredited, the clinicals and theory are taught concurrently and your A&P and Microbiology courses have a lab component. If you need any other info or have questions let me know ?
