Has anyone ever transitioned to peds from caring for adults while traveling? Is this even possible? My recruiter asked me about doing peds the other day and I never really thought about it because I didn't think you could. Any thoughts?

I wouldn't do it. I work adult ICU and when reaching out to new companies I've had recruiters try to push me into PICU positions they have open. I think these are cases of recruiters trying to get a commission and not have your best interest in mind. My friend just left ICU for PICU and she was talking about how strange it is to have to relearn basic vital signs. HR 130s RR 40s POX 89% in a baby and everything is fine. I would never feel comfortable picking this up on the go
I agree, I think it was kind of an odd suggestion.

It happens alot in ER. Some mixed ERs will take those with just Peds ER or Adult ER experience and train you. I'm not big on peds myself. I had a peds ER that wanted to take me, but I just don't feel comfortable working with all children so didn't do it.
