SWIC Summer '18

Published

Hello Everyone! I've seen previous posts discussing the Southwestern Illinois College (SWIC) nursing program for the past couple of years and I though I'd start up a fresh discussion board for the applicants of Summer 2018. I just completed my application and I'm hoping to get in with 18 points. I'm curious to know as to where everyone else is in their application process and if anyone has any more information on the upcoming months when the acceptance letters get sent out. Thanks!

@cjmmm005, what is the first year like? Will we be starting clinicals during the first year? And where do students go for clinicals? I'll have all my gen eds done by august so I'll only have to be in nursing classes, but I'm hoping I'll still be able to work full-time as a patient care tech. Any information would be helpful and greatly appreciated! :)

I got in too! There is a Facebook group SWIC Nursing Class of 2020. I got invited by a friend in the 2019 class.

@jennyeileen can you send me an invite to that facebook group?

I'd be happy to but I need to know your name on facebook!

I'm sorry I'm just now replying!! It has been a busy couple of months. We have quite a few males in our group. I want to say 10?

At orientation you get your handbook. They explain what you need to have finished by August (vaccinations, background check, etc.)

The calculations course is a math class.

Hi All,

I am trying to get credits for General Psychology at the college I'm attending for the credits I earned at SWIC (PYSC 151). They are requesting the current syllabus for the course in order to process the request.

Has anyone taken PSYC151 at SWIC? If so, may I have a copy of the syllabus for PYSC 151?

Thank you.

I have a quick question for you guys that have experience with the nursing program at swic. I recently moved from Washington State and over there nursing programs were so different. To get into the nursing program at SWIC I have to meet requirement points. My question is where the points coming from is it based on the class you have taken or your TEAS scores?

Thank you
