SWIC Acceptance

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hey everyone, just wondering if there are any SWIC students here that applyed for the nursing program for entry into the program this summer. I applied already, super freaking out because im jst waiting and waiting on my letter.so jst wanted 2 start this board for possibly other applicants 2 vent or give tips out on dealing with the wait

Yes I have been really nervous waiting to hear if I have been accepted or not! They have about given me two heart attacks with sending two pieces of mail and neither one of them have have to do with being excepted into the program. I hope they will let us know very soon. Good Luck to you!

I know.A while back I got something in the mail from the allied health department and I got soo scared to open it,then when i did I finally realized that it was just a survey..lol.im always running to the mailbox when I get home to find out.do you know how many points you have?, because I have heard so many diffrent things about the point system.Good luck 2 u also and hopefully we make it in

I have been anxiously awaiting my acceptance letter, too. I was accepted last year and had to turn down my seat because we were awaiting a relocation assignment via the military and I felt it would be unfair to start the program knowing I wouldn't have enough under my belt to transfer with. Surprise, surprise the military decided to keep us here, but waited until January to let us know. Good thing I reapplied last fall! Anyway, I backed through a year's worth of Facebook status updates, and found out when I got my acceptance letter. I know it may very well come out a different day, but thought maybe I could offer something by telling everyone that last year (2009) my letter came on April 16th. So, keep your fingers crossed everyone but don't forget to breathe! I will be crossing mine along with you!:D

Did you get two surveys?? I got two in the mail but didn't send the second one back because they were identical. I think they said something about being entered into a drawing for $50?? Maybe I SHOULD HAVE sent both back. :p

thanks 4 the great info!!!!maybe now i can relax n not sit on the edge all the time.i honestly hope im nt being 2 much of a bother,bt did u have a huge amount of points when u were accepted.ppl have said 15 is the lowest, and since i did not do 2 well on my DET,and i had 2 c's on my required pre-reqs.but my genereal education courses i ended up with a 3.5 gpa.it makes me sooo nervous because i dont think that i gained alot of points.im sorry 4 my nutty questions,bt my nerves are jst that bad.lol.n no,i only got 1 survery, lucky you.:)

I did have a lot of points (I think 20ish?), but only because I had all of me pre req's done and had excellent scores in all of my classes. The pre entrance exam I didn't shine too well on, but the other points helped to balance that out.

I didn't remember my total points, but was able to add them up using the example pdf form http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=swic+nursing+program+application&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

it's worth it just to look at that because it helps to see what areas they are looking at.

o yea,i did all of that adding up i saw my points so i have a pretty good idea of where i might be standing with the points.o yea, honestly im asking a million and eight questions, but when you received your letter was it a thin envelope or pretty thick.lol,i know its a dumb question but I just wanted to know.thank you sooo much for being apart of this thread

Haha, it's okay and it's fun to see your enthusiasm! From what I remember it was in a standard almost junkmail type envelope, you know- a lot like the decoy they sent out that ended up being a survey. (yeah my heart stopped too when that came).

Lol. my heart stopped and then dropped straight to my butt,i never in my life was so nervous to open up a piece of mail before.i guess now ill just continue with the waiting game.thanks for ur great info, its nice to have someone to talk to because im driving my family thru up and the wall and back down again

I'm waiting for my letter as well. I am nervous considering the amount of applications versus seats in the program. I am already an LPN, and wasn't sure how the point system applied to me or what kind of chance I have at getting in the program. I know there are so many seats reserved for LPN's, but I also heard that the people who didn't pass the cardio part of the program have a right to those seats also. Scared, nervous, and hopeful.

I know that if I get in, that the clinical calculation class starts this summer. There is an option to test out of the class, but I didn't know when that happened. I haven't done much with the Apothacary system, and would have to learn it all over again. I didn't know how much of that would be on the clinical calculation test.

Best of luck to you too! I think having the LPN is definitely a good helping point. I have downloaded the PDF for the point system let me peek ;) It says you get 4 points, whereas someone like myself only earns 1pt for CNA. So, that is a good boost! Max points is like 28ish. I will be keeping my fingers crossed, for all of us :)
