SW Boces Entrance Exam

Hi everyone!! I applied to Southern Westchester Boces and I am scheduled to take my entrance exam next Thursday. I am looking for anyone who has attended or has recently been accepted to the school. Or even anyone who knows anything about the test and scores needed in order to get accepted. I'm getting very nervous about the exam and any advice would be appreciated. I am curious to know how students are accepted - what scores are they looking for? Thank you!

Nurseladyy- i knoww i feel like i cant relax until i get my scores...and im really nervous about my math score!! at least now if i get slightly below 50% in math but do well in the other 2 like Abenitez then there's still hope lol

The mail was backed up a day because of memorial day.. So they'll come on Friday, most likely.

My interview is Monday at 10:30AM. They basically told me to pick anytime to come in for an interview. I even called yesterday to ask if I still have a chance for an interview and they told me they still have spots open. I would have thought that they would wait until all test dates are finished to start calling people for interviews.

Do you know what else they may ask in the interview? I'm so nervous yet excited because now I know I stilll have a chance!!!!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you both!! I know that feeling... curiosity kills!

From what I heard the interview is very quick. 15 mins the most. And they really want to make sure you can attend the 10 month program without calling out. If you have kids, they inquire on childcare and so forth. If you work they pry on how you will manage and work full time... Then, they refer to the essay we had to write and ask you why you want to be a nurse. That's really the million dollar question right there. Good Luck.. I'm going to wait for my mail man on Friday,lol....

Maybe it would be too much for them to wait for everyone to finish the exam and are getting things out the way. At this point there's no rhyme to their reasoning. I'm gonna take it one day at a time thats all...

Hi i took the exam last thurs may 27... has anyone here that took the exam on that date received an interview call/scores??

2BLPN-hey where you been. Theres a total of 4 of us whose taken the exam at SW Boces. You, Diandc123, and I took the exam on the 27 and haven't gotten our results yet. Or have you?

Another person has taken it a week prior to us and recieved her scores then a call. We're assuming ( and you know what they say, lol) that we'll at least get our scores this week (Fri). So how do you think you did?

Nope. havent gotten any results yet. I was able to finish all three parts which is what most students have trouble with. overall as a percenTAGE i feel goo but that percenTILE is what has me worried. well i hope to get that call before i see scores in the mail. this wait is driving me nuts.

I want the results first to even know if I should even expect a call. Congrats on your feeling. If you've followed this trend you see I had trouble in the reading comprehension. Not so confident about that. And you'll see that another person did good in 2 parts and only fell short of a few points, so like the lottery, You never know... Are you going for full time or part time? Commuting?
