SW Boces Entrance Exam

Published

Hi everyone!! I applied to Southern Westchester Boces and I am scheduled to take my entrance exam next Thursday. I am looking for anyone who has attended or has recently been accepted to the school. Or even anyone who knows anything about the test and scores needed in order to get accepted. I'm getting very nervous about the exam and any advice would be appreciated. I am curious to know how students are accepted - what scores are they looking for? Thank you!

OK. thanx again so much for ur help..

the program isnt bad..just seems like a continuation of boces really, um it has no set length just when you complete the classes..its usually a two year program but I have alot of the prereqs and want to finish early so i should be done this time next year.

cool. i want to g0 to Helen Fuld after i complete Boces.

oh ok thats cool..i think you have to maintain above an 85 average in all subjects to be considered an applicant for them..i think only 1 or 2 of my classmates is going there.

im definatley prepared to work that hard and then some.

well thats good...good luck

Thanks Alot again...u have been very helpful.

sjessamy, thank you so much for all of the wonderful information you've provided all of us throughout the thread. It feels so good to finally get the answers to many of the questions that we've all been dying to know. Just another quick question if you don't mind, did the classes from BOCES transfer to RCC? Or did you have to retake nursing 101 etc..

no problem...um RCC has an advanced placement LPN to RN program so you take less courses then someone who doesnt have their LPN, also their are 5 courses you can take a competency exam to see if you are not required to take it.

Hi Sjessamy...congratulations! on completing the course...just wanted to know, how many classes are taught per week, and what is the length of time each class last...a month, two months...just curious.

hey everyone!!! i haven't been on here forever, because for some reason, i stopped getting subscription update emails! i guess i'll have to go back to checking the site regularly.

to all the people who have recently been accepted into the program, congrats! and to those waiting on letters, good luck!

i'm stephanie and will be attending the day program.

sjessamy - thank you sooo much for answering everybody's questions! your answers were super helpful. good luck with your rn program!

I do the same thing. if you look on HHC.org employment opportunities, they are usually always looking for LPNs. They start them out at like 40,000 & change.

Stephanie made me realize that I put the wrong website, lol. It's actually www.nyc.org/hhc .. But Alicia, I'm glad you knew what I meant!
