SW Boces Entrance Exam

Hi everyone!! I applied to Southern Westchester Boces and I am scheduled to take my entrance exam next Thursday. I am looking for anyone who has attended or has recently been accepted to the school. Or even anyone who knows anything about the test and scores needed in order to get accepted. I'm getting very nervous about the exam and any advice would be appreciated. I am curious to know how students are accepted - what scores are they looking for? Thank you!

Nurseladyy- may I ask how many u got correct in math to score a 51? That was def my weakest section...

In math 38/50. The last section I got 12/20 which was the proportions part. I guessed on the last five questions.

Nurse ladyy- wow seems like everyone was cutting it close with the math..I guessed on the last then so we'll see..

I live in LI so I've only looked at LI and city

...Didn't find any LPN programs in city that didn't require pre-reqs. There's a boces in suffolk as well as VEEB which is similar, that only require an entrance exam. I only applied to SW b/c I missed the deadline for the ohter two. I'm not sure what test they use, but from what I read on here, schools that use the TEAS and TABE only look at math and reading for admission- the rest is just for stats so they can see how you do- I even called a school who confirmed this!

Western Suffolk Boces starts their program in March. They have prep classes to prep for their entrance exams. I believe they begin testing in October. But don't give up hope... you may still get a phone call. I scored a 47 in the math section and still received a phone call & interview.

Thanks ladies, as I still have fingers crossed. However 47 is way closer to 50 then 32. Plus 90 seats. One just scored 90, we'll see what happens. Heres to another nerve wrecking week.

I'm not even sure how SW boces works..... Do they take the top 90 scores for the day program and top 30 scores for night program? So if 90 people score higher than I did, I won't get in right? How many students do they interview?

Hey Dianedc did you get your scores? For me it's official, I have to find plans B and C. I got a "I regret to inform you letter..." so sad.. Good luck to all. In still interested on knowing how things go. Program wise and all.

STILL NO SCORES....i called and they told me they JUST got sent out so to be patient...i didnt feel like saying but everyone on the message board that im on got scores...lol

Nurseladyy- seriously?? you got ur scores one day..then a rejection letter the next??? what did the letter say? iu cant believe that..thought they would at least wait til the end of testing and receiving all scores...did anyone else get that letter as welll?

2BLPN- did u get a phone call yet?
