Survey of housing stipends offered by city

Published

Hi everyone!

I'm getting into travel nursing next yr and I was hoping to get a survey of how much people are getting for housing stipends by city. I know the amt is heavily dependent on the company as well but no need to name drop the company lol, I'm just super curious about the general figures to expect by city.

I'm particularly interested to know MIAMI and LA so please do tell if you know but feel free to reply about ALL other cities! :)

So let the survey begin!

Thankss!

The stipend amount is irrelevant by itself. What counts financially boils down to how much you can put in the bank after expenses. Sometimes this is more in relatively low paid areas because of the lower housing costs (a number of agencies will pay the same stipend in any location).

As such, a stipend number posted here will be meaningless. As an FYI, they tend to max out at about $3,000 a month, or about $4,000 of M&IE are included in the stipend figure.

When end you do start traveling, the way to calculate your bankable pay has three steps: 1. Collect agency offers. 2. Use PanTraveler's calculator to determine real pay. 3. Look at likely housing costs (Craigslist is the fastest way to get a quick estimate - other housing resources are listed on PanTravelers).

^^^ thanks for your expertise, I am aware the true value of of the package is the sun of all payments but i am still curious of the averages being offered by city. Thanks for your responses!
