i have been taking nursing classes for over a year, and had decided to take the fall sem off. well, last week i was refered to a dr that requested a mri and was diagnosed with craniopharyngioma. they aren't sure it could also be a pituitary adenoma. i am 25 and was told the lesion is still small and surgery will be in 2 wks. i have looked online for information and have found some but i tought someone here may be able to tell me some good websites to look over or what to expect as far as recovery. the dr seems great but is away for a week so i can't ask him all the questions i would like. i am hoping knowing more about this will ease my fears........
thanks for your help

I had a book that a friend wrote on the subject but unfortunately, it is in Russian. He did his graduate work for his PhD on the subject.
Where are you having the surgery at?
I forgot to add that my favorite website for this is:
http://www.skullbaseinstitute.com
They have full discussions on both of these diagnoses. Please let me know if you need any more information.

Hey Nalini...how did your surgery go? My mom is 42 and she had a transphenoidal approach to remove her craniopharyngioma. She is currently on cortisone, DDAVP, and synthroid. Everything is good except that she is gaining weight from the steroids and her double vision has not gotten much better. I am curious to find out what happened after your procedure.
