SUNY University at Buffalo ABS 2022 Start

Published

Hi there,

I'm applying to University at Buffalo's accelerated nursing program this Fall for the May 2022 start. I haven't seen any other threads on this forum. Anybody else out there applying?

For those of you who were accepted what was your GPA/clinical experience? (if you don't mind sharing)

I also just got an email that I was accepted!

I am leaning towards Duquesne as I would like to be in Pittsburgh. That will free up a spot on the waitlist for someone!

Are you NY in-state or out-of-state? Just curious, tuition difference

Yay! Did Buffalo give you any scholarship money?

There was nothing about it in the acceptance letter, though I did apply on the application.  I wonder when/if we’ll hear about the scholarship for UB. The money Villanova gave me makes it just about the same tuition as UB. The only thing is UB is a shorter program which is appealing. Moving out of NYC is daunting for me.

Yeah I’m out of state! Tuition was a big factor to me (if I got in multiple places) and I’ll be able to live rent free in Pittsburgh so it’s a big difference ultimately.

I have a 3.2 overall GPA, 4.0 in prereqs. I’m a clinical hospice volunteer which I think helped a lot. I think you have a good chance of getting off the waitlist, there were several people last year who did ?

I had a 3.3 undergrad GPA in Biology (3.8 in prereqs I think) and currently work as a Clinical Research Associate at a big hospital in Massachusetts (that’s my only clinical experience).

My undergrad GPA was a 3.4, I had about 5 pre reqs done and my GPA for that was a 3.7 I think? I had no clinical experience but I have worked for 3 years in three different biology labs including one at a hospital and I think I wrote a good essay. I’m honestly shocked I got in ? but so happy!

I really hope so! I have a 4.0 in pre req and then around 3.2 for my undergrad. I also worked as a patient care tech/medical assistant for the past 5 years. Fingers crossed a spot will open.

Damn, that resume seems like a shoe-in! Fingers crossed for you as well. Don’t give up, we will all be nurses someday!

Specializes in Public Health Science/Pre-Nursing.

I also got accepted! Has anyone else tried to submit their $150 tuition deposit yet or know how long we have to do that? Just tried to and kept getting a weird "your payment cannot be accepted at this time" message.

Hi guys, I’ve decided to attend Villanova, so that will open up a spot for those of you on the waitlist ?

Congrats on Villanova! That's awesome
