Hi everyone,
I've started this thread so we can discuss and share our experiences applying to SUNY's ABSN program for 2021. Being that the application period just opened, I’m sure we can all benefit from sharing information in regards to the process.
Best of luck to those applying!

Hey! I had a 3.3 GPA(biology major) and on my TEAS, I received a 85.7 on Reading, 93 in math and 71 on the science section. I volunteered at a hospital for 6 months(4 years ago), I tutored high school and college students for 3 years, and I work as a Patient Care Tech at a hospital for 3 years. I also did research internship in my junior year. I really hope you get a call soon!
Hey yall!
I have been following this thread for a couple of months and would like to add to it in hopes that it helps other future students who have been through the extraneous waiting game of this year's application cycle. I recently got my acceptance letter as well ?, congrats to my fellow future classmates LOL it's been something with this process.
I applied back in November 2020 - given what I have read in this thread I don't think rolling admissions was really followed with evaluations this year
I spent 2 weeks studying intensely for the ATI TEAS using their official textbook while working 2 jobs full time and took the exam at a center. Here are my stats: 96 Reading, 97 Math, 92 Science.
I have a 4.00 science GPA and a 3.95 Pre-requisites GPA. I am currently completing one outstanding science course. I have a lot of experience volunteering, shadowing, and mentoring.
I received a call from a 347 number last Thursday, interviewed Friday morning, and got my acceptance letter Friday evening.
A couple of things to take note of with the interview: be yourself, be friendly, show actual interest not just in the program but in your field, dress appropriately, and please do research on nursing in general! The 1-hour interview felt more like a conversation and I interviewed with another candidate (did not expect that!) Don't give robotic answers but don't be too casual obviously LOL. Also, they do take note of who attends the information sessions and cross-reference with who actually applies to solidify if your interest is serious. I believe they also plan to call a specific set of people every Monday and exhaust that list throughout the week. I was very nervous but please remember you got the call for the interview because you have a stellar application. I really hope this helps anyone cause I was shitting bricks hoping to hear back. ?
