Hi everyone,
I've started this thread so we can discuss and share our experiences applying to SUNY's ABSN program for 2021. Being that the application period just opened, I’m sure we can all benefit from sharing information in regards to the process.
Best of luck to those applying!

Sounds like my worst nightmare. Thanks for sharing your experience, I think it’s good to know that this kind of situation may happen to any of us. But this sounds soooo bad!

I'm assuming yes, as I included it in my application, but I am hoping it's not been too long. I just didn't know if folks had been accepted with healthcare volunteer experience that isn't exactly current ?
my healthcare experience isn’t exactly current. I had an internship at a hospital in 2015 and volunteered again in the medical field from 2017-2019. My most recent experience is along the lines of customer service, which ranges from 2018-2020. So, I think it’s okay if it’s not totally recent. they also didn’t mention that you had to have medical experience at all so I’m not sure what weight it held in my application

What does this even mean? Like you applied the last cycle and they never sent you a rejection email? Can you please elaborate?
Yes definitely wear suit and tie. You will be on camera so just your top will show. Try to be yourself. She is just trying to see your personality and if your personality will be fit for a nurse. One of the questions I had was use 3 adjectives to describe yourself. Another was have you ever been criticized in your life before and how did you handle it?
I want to apply to this program but I have all B's in my science courses. The prereq GPA comes out to about 3.5. I have no volunteer experience do I have a chance like has anyone got in with grades like this. Also, the reason being I had to care for my grandmother and go to school. I just need some hope !

Sorry, I lost a sentence there. I got a rejection email three weeks before the program started!
My status didn’t change until reapplying. ?

I'm in the same boat as you two....
Applied back in October (Posted my stats-- 3.8 cumulative, 4.0 science, 89.3 TEAS [100 math 83 sci 87 eng]) I have some prior experience as I worked at an adult day care center, worked as a PT aide for a year, and volunteered at hospitals during college. I'm not sure if they have already reviewed my application and deemed it a rejection or if they just haven't gotten to it yet.
I've noticed that people getting accepted here applied later than some of us who sent in apps during October. I'm in the party that hasn't gotten any single update besides the "File has been forwarded to program for review" ever since my submission. It's very frustrating to apply so early on a supposedly "rolling admission" basis and not hear back at all.
