SUNY BUFFALO ABS May 2014

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

I'm looking for others applying to the UB ABS nursing program for this coming May. Past classes have helped each other out and kept each other updated on important information and I'd like to get that going for the May 14 hopefuls!

I got in!!! Congratulations everyone, I can't wait to get to know you! Etnursing, I did my undergrad at U of R, it really is a fantastic school. Touch choice to make for you!! I am just so excited!!!

Thank you so much guys I can't wait until everyone starts chiming in about acceptances!! I know I'm in a tough spot now! I'm so thankful! Price is a major difference though. Congratulations! Is there a reason you didn't do the abs at Rochester?

Also nycnursetobe2014- you have some amazing intuition lol

I got in too! Congrats and I can't wait to meet you all :-)

I just realized this thread is in "post graduate nursing". I'm going to start a new one under "General Nursing Student"- maybe we'll get more people?

Does anyone know about how much the program costs?

I got in too!!! Yay!! Looks like i'll be meeting you all in a few months!!

I just got my acceptance letter too!!! CONGRATS. to all those who did. See you all in a few months!!!

We should plan a get together for those in the buffalo area- I'd love to meet everyone!

Etnursing, I really thought about doing Rochester, but I'm from Buffalo so it's much cheaper for me to live here/the program is cheaper overall. I have some student loan debt from undergrad so I had to think about money. That's the only reason. I worked at Strong hospital for a bit and loved that too! I have a couple friends that did Rochester's program and had great things to say. I don't think you can go wrong either way.

Once again, congrats everyone!!!

Sorry I'm questioning you but do you have an idea of what the price difference is?? Thank you so much

I don't know the exact price of the program- when I tried to look it up I was directed to the general undergrad tuition page. But based on the number of credits I think its in the 12-14k range total for tuition and fees- someone correct me if I'm wrong. U of R is DEFINITELY way more expensive- I think like 19k/semester. I did my undergrad at Geneseo though and Rochester is an ok place to be.

How old are you guys (out of curiosity, lol)? I'm 26 and have been living in NYC for 5 years now and am a little bit worried about the move in terms of quality of life/stuff to do, etc. Like I said I did undergrad in Geneseo so I'm used to small town western NY, but have only been to Buffalo once ever. Can you guys weigh in on that at all? We're obviously going to be waaayyy too busy to party all the time, but are there mature nightlife options? Cultural things to do/see? I'm coming either way, and am super psyched on UB, but could use a little more info on life in Buffalo to help get psyched on that! lol.
