SUNY Brockport BSN Second Degree Program - Summer 2017

Published

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to create a thread for those of us who are applying to the accelerated program at SUNY Brockport- cohort 2017.

I am currently working on my application and I am a bit confused regarding the secondary application to the nursing department. Once I know how that works I will be posting in case anyone has the same confusion that I have now.

I wish you the best of luck and you all get into your desired program. Feel free to post and share any insight that might help all of us enhance our chances to get accepted.

Lillia

Just came in today, waitlisted :/

I'm sorry to hear but you still have a chance to get in! Don't lose hope yet. By the way, for those who are still waiting on their letters (like myself) we are either wait-listed or declined. I was told if you got accepted, you would have first received an email on December 6th, and within the upcoming weeks you would receive your official acceptance letter. One of my associates actually got into the program and told me this.

@jacdelano if you don't mind me asking, what is your GPA and how did you do on your science pre reqs? Feel free to message me personally if you would like as well. Now knowing that I personally didn't get in, hopefully I'll get wait-listed as well. However, I wish I knew how their wait-list process is like though. I read some old threads from previous cohorts and couldn't find much about their wait-list system.

I was reading some old threads and it seems like not everyone who got in got the email? So, still hope! I think it would be really bizarre if I didn't get in... I have a cumulative 3.5 and a pre-req GPA of 3.8, but I still haven't had any contact from the department. I called yesterday and left a message. Hopefully I will find out something today >.

Wow! That would be really weird if you didn't get in, your grades are so good. I hope you get accepted!

I got my letter yesterday, I was wait listed as well. Basically what the letter says is that their wait list is optional, you have to send their form back saying that you want to be on the wait list, or send it back saying you want to withdraw your application.

Wow, really?! I guess what my associate said about the whole email thing isn't entirely true then because I honestly don't see why they wouldn't accept you. With your grades, I'm surprised you only applied to this nursing school and not others.

Do you need to send the wait-list form back within a certain time frame? Is there a deadline?

No, it just says as soon as possible.

I only applied to this one because I have to stay in the Rochester area, because of my fiance, and U of R was too expensive for me. I also didn't want to do the associates degree at MCC because I'll just need to get a BSN anyway, so I'd rather get the master's in the mean time. Honestly, the only reason I see why I wouldn't get in is because I have zero patient care experience. I currently work in biomedical research as a scientist. I got a call back from the the admin assistant this morning and she said she didn't have any information, then transferred me to the admissions department. They are on break from the 17th-2nd, though. So, hopefully today is the day I get the letter!

Still no letter of any kind- I wonder who did get in?

I got waitlisted too. Not a rejection so I am happy! I never got an email though just a letter home. The letter said we could be waiting until May 1st to hear if we got in or not. Hopefully it will be sooner than that!

Still no letter for me! I email the director of the program last night to ask what's up. Anyone else still not get a letter?

I didn't get one either, I wonder why?

I feel like it is kinda nuts to be sending out formal letters so late. Perhaps it is getting caught up with all the holiday mail? All my family is also going to be asking about this over the weekend... I don't know how many time I can say "i dunno!" xD
