Tweety glad you're starting to feel better

NJ22 thanks for the picture

Stars sounds like you were productive

Was a bit quieter yesterday.  Rained in the morning, but was able to get outside later in the morning.  Met dad for lunch, did a little cleaning, and not much else the rest of the day.  Was expecting it to rain most of today but it only did so in the early morning and later evening

Today have church. After church will head downtown to meet my friend J for coffee, something we haven't done in a few months.  Will try and get the cooking for the week done before church and then exercise once I get back from downtown.  Otherwise a pretty quiet day

Will be rainy for much of the morning, cooler too, only up to 60

Good morning!

We're having nice weather in the mid to low 80's.  The air conditioning does come on but isn't running full time anymore.  It can stay like this all year and I'll be happy.

Waffles let me sleep until 7AM past her feeding time.  She's back in bed asleep now.

Since I overshare, I did not take an Imodium but had a bout while I was in the grocery store.  So I'm definitely still not well and still have to be near a bathroom when I leave the house.

Going to hot yoga this afternoon but going to lay low.  The steak dinner was good although I forgot to get myself a baked potato and it was steak and veggies which was good for my low carb friend.

Have a great day.

Woke up at 10:30 AM; had a very hard time falling asleep last night, I think it was  after 4 AM before my brain finally quieted down enough in order to be able to go to sleep. Just went down to the kitchen to get a big cup of coffee; took my AM meds to quiet down the usual morning ouchies. I have to rest a while longer so the medicine will have a chance to discourage the gypsies. If Nannie wasn't already in the recliner, I would currently be sleeping a little longer, but since it is now almost 11:30 I should probably stay awake.

Don't know what I will get up to today except for the routine stuff and waiting for Nannie's bedtime in about 9 + hours. Hope not to have to deal with either of the iL's dropping by. Tomorrow I will have to go to the bank and also to pay the overdue phone bill. (It got lost in a pile of mail and papers, so I have to find it before I can go pay it!) I have just rec'd 3 incoming calls in a row, each with a different area code and no ID or message, so they went unanswered.

Now it is noontime. Going to try to keep my jets cooled again today; hope I can....but I already feel kind of irritated that Nannie is up, so I have to work at detaching my emotions again.

It's raining, but I will go for a walk soon. I was up late watching a Netflix movie, so slept until 8. There is a podcast that comes out Sunday that I enjoy listening to that I will take along. The dogs thoroughly dislike rain, so I will leave them home. My boy dog, Punch, was acting very clingy last night, and we suspected he didn't feel well. I came to bed, and the dogs always come along. At some point I think Punch urinated on dh's pillow. Dh was furious and now is not talking to me.

I attended a rally yesterday, which got soggy in the rain, but it felt good to at least show up. Then home for laundry, after a quick stop at the grocery store for some premade meals. Youngest son bought me a bottle of iced pumpkin coffee, which was meh, and gave me some heartburn. Probably the spices.

No plans for today, other than a baseball game to watch on TV. I suppose I will be ignored for the rest of the day.

nj22, I am so appalled that you would encourage your pup to wee-wee on the husband's pillow 🙄 🙄 🙄. No wonder he is😠mad at you! 🙄🙄🙄 (Good grief!)

I took Tinker out and discovered that something tore a nasty hole in the roof of the metal storage shed. No branch inside or outside of the shed, though. And there are cracks all around the shed's doorknob, which I cannot account for. It looks like someone tried to open the door without turning the knob (of course, it has a lock like you put on a school locker, and that was not moved..... I sent a text to BiL saying that it will need a tarp put over the hole because "they"say it is going to rain and  maybe we'll have a thunderstorm. Meanwhile I have put two buckets under the gash, just in case

The wind is blowing like crazy; although the weather report says it is only 16 mph it seems like a lot more than that.

BiL just arrived so I will go out and talk with him.......

BiL discovered a 6 ft long branch that bombed straight down into and through the metal roof; I didn't see it because it was down behind a pile of boxes. Since the shed has been there about 60 years, and the metal is all of one piece, the roof can't be repaired, per SE, the whole shed may have to be replaced. At least the $$$ won't come out of my pocket! But, if he gets it covered with a tarp, and we get a day when it is not going to rain, I guess we will have to empty it out (no small task!) in order to put a new shed there. Or maybe, a new shed can be placed down beside it and give us a place to move the stuff into so we don't have to pile it all together and put a jumbo tarp over all of it! Jiminy Crickets!

Ain't it always SOMETHING!

So Nannie can only talk about 1.) "oh that wind!" Except she can't think of the word wind and calls it 'pind' or "that thing that is making things go all  'woooo-wooo' out there" (accompanied by her hand gestures.) And #2.) she keeps saying how 'pretty' the dog ('HE') is and how pretty her jersey is....which she keeps showing me how the jersey is all around her front and the back and the sleeves are long, and "isn't it pretty?" I keep saying, "U-huh" and"Yes, it is."

Oy vey. Tamping down my nerves, as I may be in for a long day.

Sooooo, I went upstairs for a minute and came down to find Nannie had gotten out of the recliner with the foot rest still up; she was standing in the open back doorway. She 'accidentally' let Tinker out. (Thank God when I said, "Come here!" Tinker did.) Nannie said she was going out to the area beside the house where she said a tree was falling down. I wonder if she thought she could catch it or move it? Anyway, all it was, was a thin branch full of leaves and it was waving around in the wind. It was still quite attached to the small tree it was on. Now she is saying something about a gray child out there in the bushes (HUH?). And: "There's a tall pole out there and it goes all the way across past the house, and it is HOT, like it might start a fire." (Need I say, "T'isn't"?) She is talking verbal tossed salad, and it seems she wants to argue about something, but I don't know what or why. "We need to go get the list we were going to bring down and use it." (....for what?) "Look at all those things on the curtains" .....I had to close the drapes because she won't stop carrying on about the wind, or really, what she thinks she sees outside. Now, it is the shadows of waving branches moving back and forth across the drapes, which we can see now because the sun just came out.

I KNOW and am AWARE of her dementia and Alzheimer's but am having a VERY hard time listening to all her non-stop non-sentences with non-words, and a lot of "Uh.....uh.....you know what I mean......uh.......uh."

I think it is time for a Xanax......Artificial Calmness. For ME, not for her. Why is she not napping this afternoon?

I apologize for my short-tempered insanity,

Hello all!

No Stars, do take the Xanax, and I hope it helps you "weather" the afternoon.  Vent away here!  I hope Nannie goes quietly to bed and STAYS there.  Good girl, Tinker, for coming when called!

I hope y'all have had a quiet day.

I slept OK, and after lunch I got a few things at the grocery store, and this afternoon have baked an apple pie (using green apples my friend pulled off her tree for me!) and made more chicken tomatillo soup.  I still need to exercise ...  sometime.

The temperatures have been nice, in the high 70's and low 80's and COOLING DOWN at night, yay!  It feels like fall!

Dh's ankle is slowly healing.  He says the range of motion is getting better (no pain with movement, that is).  It's not quite 100% yet -- just give it time!

The pie smells REALLY good, cooling on the cutting board.  I recall movies and cartoons depicting freshly-baked pies being set on a window sill to cool.  And the smell wafting in the neighborhood...  The crust was difficult (more difficult than usual), as it wouldn't stick together, requiring more water than the recipe called for.  I'm no expert on  crusts, so I just added more water and crossed my fingers as I worked the dough.  It's not a pretty pie but I'll bet, made with those fresh green apples, it will be tasty!

That's all for now!  Have a good evening!
