dianah- Thank you for 'saving the day"! I can't post right now because I am 'cooking' frozen pot pies and frozen broccoli florets. Whoop-dee-do. Ha. Doing it because we are low on funds and it was what was in the freezer. I ain't no home-maker, that's for sure.
Will be back by here later!
Another hazy day. We are so looking forward to a nice rain to scrub the air. Perhaps next week. I rode through the fog this morning on the way to breakfast, and was thankful for my bike lights. I finally got the laundry done, and shopped for food for our trip. I can’t really pack the trailer because dh and youngest ds are putting up a tv bracket in between snoozing in front of the house tv. I also took a nap. I think my new med is making me more tired than usual. Every afternoon I get sooo sleepy. Tomorrow I need to pick up prescriptions, my new glasses, and a new charging cord for my laptop. Somehow the part that plugs into the ‘puter came apart from the cord.
G'day.
I am in North Carolina visiting my parents and was too lazy to start the thread from phone.
My mother definitely has dementia and add that to her temper and drama queen attitude and she's a hot mess. In top of that she isn't very mobile. Pressured by my sister and dad to sit with her when she was in a good mood I would go to her room and visit only to be asked to leave after a bit.
She's a full time job and hopefully my niece and I can get them some help. But they don't trust anyone and mom doesn't want help.
Had a good visit with my brother who came by.
I come home tomorrow. Very depressing trip.
Tweety, I stepped out the door and waved at the sky, because you are somewhere in this state, and so the same part of the sky is over us both. Awwww, that sounds pretty dippy, I know, but I did wave and say, "Hey, Tweety!" // Sorry about your mom; you know I can identify. We'd love to have another to take care of Nannie, but can't figure what kind of hours, since she can get up anywhere between 6 AM and 3:30 PM! And of course, the second part to that, you know, is the financial situation. // Thankfully, Nannie is sleeping more and more. But, she didn't sit on her bed with her wet pull-ups, so I didn't have to change the bed. I do end up doing her laundry every other day. Her bladder seems to leak whenever she moves....which may be why she seldom does.
I don't think hubby did any drinking today beyond what keeps the shakes away. I wondered if he had decided to stop drinking and try the Librium taper, but I didn't dare ask, because I didn't want to feel let-down and disappointed. But it was nice not to have to bear his inebriated actions and activities, like having to listen to him slur slowly, and pause and slur his words and thoughts; or me being afraid when he wobbles up or down the stairs, or trying to figure out how to get him to stop shouting at the TV news broadcasts. Ahhh. So it was a more relaxing day for me.
Yeah, so it's 11:30 PM and I think the other denizens are asleep. So, I guess I'll grab a banana and some ice-cold milk and head upstairs to read for a while.

A late greeting to you all!
Joe, hope your visit and trip are going well.
Tweety, hope work is going smoothly.
No Stars, thanks for the reminder to start a Sunday thread!
I just got home from a visit with a friend, and then a trip to the local Thai restaurant. I will get groceries tomorrow, I think. My arms are feeling better after Friday's boosters, but I still have a dull headache. Dh wants us to attend the jam today, that will be in a couple hours. We will have some lunch first.
Next weekend I will go to the local Footlighters theatre, they are doing an Agatha Christie play called The Mousetrap.
Not much else planned!
Have a good day!
