Alas, it is time to get the Nannie person out of her recliner, where she has been sitting for who knows how long. Will get her dressed, medicated, and fed, and hope for her to take another long afternoon nap.
Big aches in the lower back and hips. Have applied another large Lidocaine patch, taken my AM meds, and rested with a cup of coffee while waiting for things to ease off.
Looks like an "exciting" day 🙄
Stars, sorry about the aches and pains. Hope by now you're feeling better.
Joe, enjoy your busy day.
Dianah, sounds like fun times.
The play was really good. I'll include the ad below
Went to hot yoga today and to Trader Joes. Bought a nice bouquet of flowers to brighten things up. A friend that is downsizing gifted me a really solid crystal vase.
Nothing much else is going on today.
The answer is: At LEAST 3,649 times.
The question is: How many times have I told Nannie today WHY she is coughing so much.
She is alllll het up about something she said happened in a field and something about medicine and nobody would listen to her and she wasn't going to have any of that going on; she hasn't got any horses, she said, (I guess this comes from the Kentucky Derby news) it also has SOMETHING to do with the news on TV about the conclave, and SHE'S "NOT CATHOLIC!" And she never heard them explain what it is they want her to do about it. 🙄 🤔 Personally I would like her to "hush her puppies" . It is exhausting to keep listening and looking at her like she is making sense, as she talks a mile a minute about something, when she does not even understand anything she is saying. Lots of stuttering and hand gestures and saying "Oh, you know...." No, I don't say I don't know; I just say "Huh!" Actually, I think even God doesn't know what she is talking about!
Whoooo, home now! We left for the hymn sing around 1pm, stopped to pick up fiddler (who played piano for the hymn sing), and got to the venue around 2:30. We got set up in the next 1/2 hour. They had coffee and some cookies set out. It was held in a small tavern (closed for the day) -- rustic decor, with rough wood plank floors, dark wood tables, mis-matched wooden chairs, and wood paneling. They had a small area set up with the piano and some microphones for three other vocalists, plus mikes for me (played guitar and sang) and dh (played banjo). We used Baptist Hymnals, and had a great time singing along with the 30 (or so) ppl who attended. Sometimes the leader chose the song, and sometimes the singers raised hands with a suggestion. We love singing the old hymns. Our band did Leaning On the Everlasting Arms and I'd Rather Have Jesus, as two specials to break up the "program." Again, we enjoyed the whole afternoon!
The rain started as we left home and didn't stop during the event, and it even now continues; we have changed into "house clothes," for comfort! It is a nice night to be cozily at home. I hope to sleep well tonight.
Have a good evening!
good evening. had a relaxing weekend. Leisurely dog walks, working in the garden, reading in the sunshine streaming in the window, and catching a nap or two. I've been using topical voltarin on my heel, and doing gentle stretches and exercises. And massaging my calf to loosen the muscles. It does seem to help. I had a facial yesterday and the aesthetician suggested I see a dermatologist for some concerning spots on my forehead. Sigh, another sign of getting older. I go to Seattle tomorrow for a pacemaker check. Dh will come along and we'll stop for lunch and at a nursery so he can find the perfect tomato starts.
Tweety, those a lovely flowers, and a nice vase. I see a lily or two in there so I bet it smells good, too!
I hope your music event is well attended. What kind of music? Hymns?
Dianah, ah, it's so nice to sit inside and look out at the rain.
I saw pictures of the hats at the Kentucky Derby. Some looked a little soggy, tho. About 44 years ago I was visiting dd in the NICU in Seattle and the nurses were watching the Derby on TV. They made quite an event of it. She spent 10 days there due to respiratory distress and a chest tube. She was delivered a little early, but was still 7 lb 8 oz. She looked enormous compared to the itty bitties in the NICU with her.

Tweety I hope her appetite improves
Stars glad she seems to be recovering
Dianah glad the weather was good for the bluegrass jam
Drive home yesterday was uneventful. And less tiring than the drive down. Which is odd, usually the drive to is less tiring.
Once home had to unpack and then bake blueberry muffins. Then stop at the grocery store and then exercise. Rest of the day was quiet. Watched part of Svengoolie
Today will be busy too. Will do the cooking prior to church. Will get to church a bit early to help as assisting minister. Then home then back to church to help set up for the music event. Expecting a fairly large crowd so more set up than usual. Rest of the day should be quiet
Should be in the 50s today, rain expected by the afternoon
