Hello all!

Joe, I hope your visit is going well and the weather is cooperating.  Safe travels home.

No Stars, hope you slept well and Nannie is tolerable today.  Same for Ado and her Gma.

nursej22, hope you are doing OK.

We were up early yesterday, to drive to Riverside and help with the 11:30 church program.  We met our friend C there, and he and dh played banjos, I played guitar, and fiddler played for our version of Battle Hymn of the Republic, a special request by the speaker in honor of the veterans.  The rest of the service was just amazingly exciting and inspiring.  Their praise team is outstanding!  EVERYONE got into the congregational singing!  It was so encouraging to be there and experience the energy!  Here is their YouTube of the service:

The service went till 1:30 or so, and we stayed and spoke with one of the hospital chaplains (I think that is his church), and then left with fiddler and her dh, and met at our favorite Thai restaurant for a late lunch.  It was sure needed, at that point!  We had a nice natter and also chatted with the restaurant owner and his wife.

After eating, we showed up (late, but it was OK) to the practice with the Big Group, in preparation for a hymn sing at a retirement community on 6/8.  It was good to play with them again, and we stayed after to chat and help put things away.

We got home around 8.  Did household chores, and by then I was hungry so I fixed a little something to eat, and I relaxed.  Slept pretty well last night.  Today we will relax and decide what to do tomorrow!

Cats are all pretty healthy, and little dog-breath is doing well.  He is a happy little boy.

I will swing by later and check the thread out.  Have a good day!

I woke up at 9:30 AM and instead of my thigh or my left shoulder hurting, today it is all the knuckles across my right hand. So I put on a support glove and took all my meds and went back to bed to sleep some more....woke up at 12:50 PM! Realized I had to come down and get Nannie up, so I threw on some clothes and was coming down the stairs when I saw legs and feet approaching the back door...it was SiL who just came by to give Nannie a shower and get her dressed and out to her chair for breakfast. Blessings upon blessings! I told her she has a halo and I'd give her 6 stars across her forehead! If there was any start to the day I needed help with, it was today! I guess she knew, after the texts I sent her yesterday about Nannie and the hallucinations, I could use a little break. We've decided it might very well be another UTI, so I will call ....or arrive at...the doc's office to see if they'd call in an antibiotic for her. And she has to have a "wellness visit" scheduled, which does not include a visit with the doc; it's a PA or NP who does the wellness visits, so I'm thinking that we could get the antibiotic started, THEN if she needs a doc appt, we can schedule it.

And another blessing....Nannie is now sitting with her eyes closed. Maybe she will 😴nap REAL GOOD this afternoon....*fingers crossed*!

When we were watching My Lottery Dream House on HGTV yesterday, I said my fantasy is to get a BIG win, and sign up for the tall, tattoo'd guy to come and help me look for my Dream House......simply so I could say enthusiastically to him, like many of the women who he's brought into beautiful homes, "Oh, DAY-VID!" 🤣 They really do sound almost orgasmic! Makes me laugh every time!

Good morning (barely). It is wet and dreary here, yet again. But it is hard to complain about weather when I see the news of Texas, OK and Arkansas. I can't believe I am still turning on the heat in the morning, to take the chill off. Yesterday, dd and I went out for brunch and then got pedis, as a late Mother's Day treat. It was quite nice. The food was meh, but the coffee and mimosa were excellent. It was also the same day as the big local parade, but we didn't plan on going because youngest grandson was not going to march with the band. And then he did after all. I'm sorry I missed it.

I prepared one of dh's recipes that he found on the internet--chicken caprese. It was just meh.  I have plenty of left over mozzarella, tomatoes and basil, so I'll just make some caprese salad for dinner.

The dogs are in big trouble today. They got hold of the head gear for dh's cpap and chewed on and it won't seal. Never mind that it got left in their reach... And we discovered that they chewed on the cabinet of the bathroom where they were shut in last Thursday. Argh. They just seem to get so nervous when alone that they chew on anything they can get in their mouths, despite multiple chew toys.

I have a mountain of household chores due to be gone most days for the last week. And I don't want to tackle any of them.

dh just had one of those "wellness visits" but he was able to do it by video. I check his bp, and he reports that, his blood sugars, and they check to see if his shots are up to date.  My office doesn't offer those, which is fine, as I think I can monitor that stuff for myself.  After this week, I don't need to see any health person for a year! other than the dentist or eye Dr. Yee haw!

J22, you sound like me when I was finally able to go a year between visits to the retina doctor. Oh gosh that reminds me. They sent a letter telling me we need to reschedule the appt I made a year ago. Must remember to call them. Not sure why they didn't call me.

Storms missed us last night but sure hit some other places hard.

We just watched the Indy 500.

Ugh, the leader rounding, Tweety.

Our choir went with the pastor to do a short service at one of the local nursing homes this afternoon. She (the pastor) treated to pizza between the church service and going to the nursing home. Hubs and I didn't go the church or lunch but did go to the nursing home. He has the excuse of needing to get his mom up but I have no excuse except that I was comfortable with the cat on my lap and wanted to stay home more than I wanted to go. I'm trying not to feel bad about it.

Hubs' sister is reportedly not doing well. At 67, she's had Alzheimer's a few years and is in a home.
