Good morning!
Joe, hope you have a good day.
Dianah, hope today find you and husband on the mend.
J22, hope the cough/allergies clear up.
Ado, that's quite a dramatic drop in temperature.
I read that our covid cases here went up over 50%. Summers have been brutal here with covid, so wondering how this Summer will be. They are recommending boosters and masks for the elderly and people with comorbidities. At 63, I'd like to think I don't fall into either category. LOL. But as cases rise, they will change their recommendations to masking up for all of us and I'm likely to comply. Fortunately it does seem people aren't getting that sick when they do get it and hospitalizations remain low.
Not much going on for me today. Have some laundry to do and will go to the gym. I've been looking at some Bollywood movies to watch on Prime. If some of the old timers remember after I went to India in 2008 I had an obsession with Bollywood movies for a while but lately haven't been watching many. I'm watching a Netflix movie that came out a few years ago called "Mudbound" that's really good.
Have a great day.
Hello all.
Joe, good you made it back safely in spite of the rain. Relax before tomorrow's work! What kind of fence is J getting? The newer synthetic, or old-style wood?
Tweety, I remember when you were watching Bollywood movies! I hope Covid numbers AND hospitalizations remain low, though I'm realistically telling myself "whatever will be, will be."
Didn't sleep much last night, for the coughing. At 8pm I took nasal decongestant, albuterol, and delsym. Cough did not abate at all, in fact was quite violent at times. At 1am I found some Sudafed in the kitchen and took it, side effects be damned!! THAT lightened the frequency and severity of the cough but I still didn't sleep.
I am up to eat some breaky and take my medications, then will try to take a nap. I'm just waiting this thing out, treating symptoms. Have tested X2 negative for Covid (once on Tuesday, at the beginning of symptoms, and once this morning, 5 days into it).
Hope you all have a good day!
We are in line for the ferry home. Im going to get Sudafed for my flight tomorrow. My head is congested, rare cough. I think this is my first cold in 2 years, and yuck, I haven’t missed it. Weather is sunny, in the mid 60s.
I watched Mudbound, and thought it good. I flight out at 6 in the morning to Palm Springs for. 3 day conference on TB. Ugh, will have to get up at o dark thirty.
The bad news is that my 'new' computer (ASUS) kind of died mid-posting, the screen went black and couldn't do anything to bring it back to life. Hubby talked with the new neighbor across the street who works on? or with? computers and he said he would look at it for us, without affecting the warranty. Have not heard back from him. I have been using my old laptop, but alas, this AM when I was logging in, the screen went totally WHITE and did not respond to any buttons pressed. Someone told hubby that meant that the motherboard had probably croaked. A new motherboard can be purchased for about $89, and it's something you can (supposedly) just pull out and plug in the new one....but the computer is about 4-5 years old. So, after supper, hubby came to the top of the stairs at the den, and said, "I'll be back in a little while."
When he came back he handed me a box with a brand-new Acer in it! He had gone to Walmart, saw the computer was marked down from $289 or so, to $199. He decided I really needed a laptop now so I wouldn't go into the DT'S! Good call! I have to tell you (but did not tell him and probably won't) that I actually had a premonition that he'd gone to get me a new computer! Really! I was overjoyed when he handed me the laptop's box. I am so thankful, delighted, and HAPPY to be able to get back on line with you all, my friends!
If the neighbor manages to resurrect the other laptop, hubby can use it, OR we can send it back and either they can fix it OR they can send me a refund!
So now I am set up and signed in. w00t!
The fingerboard on this newest new laptop has the alphabet keys offset to the left, and additional numbers keys on the right ... for whatever reason I have yet to discover. Did you know that they now do not have a User's Manuel in the box. It is on-line! All they give you in the product's box is the 'how-to-start-it-up' pages, but it was all I needed to soothe my savage nerves and feed my addiction.
That's all for the moment----
w00t!! A new computer, No Stars! Your dh gets big points for that one! So glad you are signed in and participating again!
nursej22, so sad you are coming down with something!! Hope it is a light case and leaves quickly. I am still sick, or I might have offered to drive down to PS to meet for dinner, or something (only an hour-ish away).
The Sudafed hung on (dry mouth, heightened alertness) till after 1pm today. So, that meant I couldn't nap. I coughed half the night, and the other half (after the Sudafed dose), I was awake (playing spider solitare, in-between attempts to fall asleep). Yah, I didn't sleep. I am starting to feel it, too!! LOL! I took a walk, just to get outside, for about 20 min. Felt good to be out but I was a little shaky. Then I participated in dh's jamkazam jam. I now need to eat, take a shower, and then hit the hay! Here's hoping I can sleep some tonight.
Have a good evening!

Hi Ado
After meeting that friend at the coffeehouse I packed up and checked out. Drove around town a bit before leaving
The trip back was not long though a bit tiring. Especially once I got into IL and the rain started.
Rest of the day was pretty quiet. Unpacked and relaxed, watched Svengoolie
Today will do the laundry and go to church. J's fence arrives today so we're not getting together. Rest of the day should be quiet, no cooking or baking to do. Should be a nice day in the 60s. Might ride my bike but my legs may be too tired from all the walking
