Good morning!
Dh changed the ink cartridges for the printer, and I will take the used ones today to the local Office Depot for recycling. I will get a couple things from there too. He also changed my guitar strings, yay! Now I will have fresh strings for our trip to the festival!
Not much else going on today. When I got home yesterday, I checked my little garden and the tomato plant was just wilted over! I thought it got water from the neighbor's sprinklers, but apparently it doesn't get enough. I watered it and it looks better today. I will water it again. Hmmmm, will ask our pet-care, house-sitting person to water it for us when we're gone.
Have a good day!
Hey, all~
Last night's "mindfulness" (which I don't think this was!) was remembering and singing in my head some movie musicals: Sound of Music, Camelot, and Bye-Bye Birdie, all of which I have seen so many times I have practically memorized all the lyrics. Well, it was not helping me fall asleep, so I tried to quit, and in my head I kept hearing these lyrics from Bye-Bye Birdie: "Hiya Hugo, Hiya stupid, whatcha wanna go get pinned for?" And I also got to thinking how terribly miscast Ann-Margret was, and her having Bobby Rydell as her boyfriend was not very believable. They needed a less sophisticated and less 'suggestive' female lead cast in that roll.
So, I really didn't sleep much at all....maybe 4 hours total. UGH! I feel kinda crappy today. Hubby was restless and up and down all night, mentioned the Xanax again, and when I reminded him I didn't have any, and his prescription can't be refilled until next week, He said, "Well, what I really wish is that I had some Hydrocodone." ... Good Grief! YUH!
I stayed up last night and watched another Tony Curtis movie that was on: a bio of "The Great Imposter", which I had not seen in quite a while. I wonder how Fred Demara's story really ended? The movie ending was clever....A close-up shot of Tony Curtis, and when the words "THE END" each appeared on screen on either side of him, he looked at the word "THE" and then turned to the word "END", then smiled slyly at the camera and shook his head "No". Guess I will look up on-line in a while to see what the 'real' end of his story was. Also was wondering who they had cast for Fred as a young boy. The kid acted with his eyes, and relayed his feelings at various turns in his early life; he was quite good and was also believable as a younger version of Tony Curtis. Did the kid stay in acting? I don't know, but I'm curious.
Got Nannie up at noon, she ate her yogurt and then within a half an hour she was asleep in her recliner! Hubby came inside from the Ford, and is now sitting in his recliner, putting his 02 on.
He had to tell me about a documentary he saw (on his smaht-phone) about a farmer in Michigan who, with several friends, dug in one of his fields for some reason, and came across what he thought was a rock, which ended up being the tusk of an intact Wooly Mammoth; they got a paleontologist involved, too. The whole animal still had 'meat' on it, preserved well by whatever was in the soil around it. Huh!
Anyway, I'm stopping here because my brain is sagging. (!)
Hi. I'm taking a lunch break from garden work. Mostly I am trying to keep to weeds at bay. I did plant the rose that youngest ds got me for Mother's Day. Yesterday was much the same. I watched an incredibly sad movie on Netflix about a woman with early Alzheimer's. I need more laughs. I watched the last episode of Ted Lasso the other night and it still makes me smile.
I need to clean house, but I have no oomph.
I looked up Frank Demara. He eventually went to bible school in Oregon and earned credentials to be a pastor. He lived in Washington state for a while, serving as a pastor and a school bus driver. He ended up in California as a hospital chaplain, dying at age 60 from heart failure and DM complications. I couldn't find anything on the young actor.
Stars, the nights I can't sleep, I will usually have one song then another then another, rolling around in my brain. And now, I have to look up The Great Imposter, and find out all about it!
I read online about watering plants when one is gone, and here is one suggestion: poke a small hole in the top of one of the plastic water bottles, then fill the bottle with water. Dig a hole and "plant" it upside-down next to the plant that needs water. Supposedly, the water from the bottle will trickle out and keep the plant watered. I had dh poke two small holes in one of the bottle lids, and I inverted it next to the tomato plant. We'll see how that works!
I submitted the used ink cartridges for recycling, yay. Met a friend in Lowe's when I stopped there, and got to chat a little with her. I got "express" Indian food for us for lunch, we both liked it! Though, I thought there were two string beans on top of my chickpea masala. *ahem* they turned out to be hot chili peppers! So I got a flavorful lunch!
nursej22 said:Update regarding the Great Imposter cast. It looks like the younger Fred Demera Jr. (I called him Frank enothingarlier), was portrayed by Robert aka Bobby Crawford Jr. He did appear as mainly child actor on television, most notably on Laramie. His brother Johnny, was on the Rifleman.
That's what I was going to say, but you found out and posted it ahead of me! I read, too, that Fred was 6 ft tall and weighed 325 lbs, ? so, NOTHING like Tony Curtis!!! ?
I hope I can sleep tonight; I am really tired, but I was tired last night, too. I can pick up my Xanax tomorrow, so I will be able to sleep tomorrow night. I am going to keep the bottle in my purse, so hubby doesn't help himself. I think his prescription for Xanax isn't due for refill for another week. OY! Not looking forward to seeing him do his zombie stagger to the bathroom at night. A couple of nights ago I was holding my breath every time he got up out of bed. What a life.

Ado I'm glad you finally got there after the flight delays
Thankfully I did not get heat stroke or sunburn or bitten by any ticks yesterday morning, although it was pretty hot and we were mostly in the sun. Thankfully the work was pretty easy, putting prairie plants in holes that were mostly pre-drilled
Rest of the day was fairly ordinary. Had lunch with dad. Stopped by the grocery store. Watched Svengoolie
This morning I'll be at church a bit early as I'm assisting. Church has now moved up its 9am Summer schedule. Will do some cooking and probably some CEUs today
