Sailing does sound nice. Gosh, those power outrages sound frustrating.
I know it’s just about impossible to confirm, not it sounds like Nannie may have another UTI. I guess I don’t understand the harm of sleeping in one’s clothes.
Joe, that is a busy day for a day of rest! Poppyseed muffins sound delish. I am a mess at dividing up batter to get things evenly sized. I used to hate making cupcakes for our kids.
Dianah, it sounds like you guys are weathering COVID as well as can be expected. I still get an occasional cough, where I feel like I’m choking, and then I’ll bring up some mucus.
Tweety, I hope your shift is tolerable today.
I talked to sis’s Dr yesterday, and got some answers, but still have questions. She was going to have a heart cath today, but they didn’t stop her anticoagulant, so it will be Monday. And she reminded me about her anaphylaxis after some contrast dye, so I wanted to confirm with her nurse, but after waiting 45 minutes to talk to her, I had to leave. Sis didn’t have an allergy band on, but maybe they don’t use those anymore? She is was going to check.
it’s raining again today. Blerg. We mushy go to see Downton Abbey.
nursej22, hope your sister pursues alerting the Cardiology team about her contrast allergy. I can't imagine a hospital NOT using an allergy band, or some sort of alerting system, to pass info on to different departments. Too bad the heart cath had to be delayed. I want to see Downton Abbey too!! It will likely be out of the theaters by the time I get around to it, though! Please send us some rain, thanks.
Started having an ant problem in the kitchen yesterday. Dh sprayed kitchen, sprayed outside the house, and put out ant traps. Time for me to get going, have a few things to pick up at the grocery store, then we need to pack and load the car (we bring it along so we can go to Big Bear Lake or run home to check on the cats).
Have a good day!
Hot Afternoon~
Disgusting weather-report: Today-98 degrees, Monday-99 degrees, Tuesday and Wednesday-100 degrees, all with oppressive humidity. Whee-w00t! BLAH! Not sure about the possibility of thunderstorms, because they keep changing the days/times the storms might occur. Doesn't matter, I don't have any plans to go outside, except when hubby and I want to talk, out of Nannie's hearing-range. That doesn't stop her from going into her bathroom to see if she can listen in on us. (The window is right next to the front-porch's stairs.) We don't talk loud enough for her to catch on to anything, though.
Joe, Nannie's slippage is similar to what it was before she went into the hospital and had her meds changed a bit. Stubborn and argumentative at times. Confused about this being HER home, not a "place" where "they" take pretty good care of her. But she is still self-care, aside from being 'stove up' (stubbornly refusing) about wearing her pj's. She actually says she does not own any pj's! Maybe this evening after supper I will lay out four pair of pj's for her to choose from. Maybe she'll change into them, and maybe she won't. I personally don't care if she goes to bed clothed or not. I don't have a sense of smell, but I'd think that after about 3-4 days of wearing the same clothes 24/7, she might start smelling a little fusty. She is still wearing what she had on yesterday: two long-sleeve t's, a snap-front sweatshirt/jacket, AND her pink, fluffy shoulder-wrap...plus, the space-heater is on high, pointing directly at her. (The thermostat is set on 67-68 during the day, and hubby turns it down to 64 at night because he says his room is too hot and that keeps him awake.) But we will have to call for an appt for her to see her PCP. As far as a UTI, they won't cath her at the office, and like I said before, I couldn't do a clean catch, never mind a sterile specimen because she can't spread her legs. Last time they just prescribed the antibiotics, without testing her urine. Fine by me.
j22, Yeah, allergy bands are still being used; I don't see how they could NOT put an allergy band on a patient, especially one going in for a procedure. I hope all goes well for your sister.
dianah, our ant problem started last week. The little things come in from under the window's woodframe over the kitchen sink and stay mostly on the strip of counter in back of the sink. I believe they might be addicted to that Terre Ant poison. They don't seem to be on the hunt for food crumbs, though, and they never go into any cabinets, which is good.
Nannie just finished her lunch, and hubby has gone out to his "office" (the Ford) to listen to the radio. He listens to NPR a lot now!
Welp. the baseball game is on, so I'll watch and cheer on the Braves....
Happy Sunday, all.
Yes, J22, I'm sure there should be an allergy band. She must make sure they're aware.
Up to 100 degrees today with 50% humidity. I'm gonna stay in the house. Twin A went back to work today. Gma is still coughing a nice wet cough but otherwise everyone seems to be on the mend. I have got to get some laundry done in preparation for the week. Thinking about backing out of going to the wildlife rehab this evening though I hate being unreliable.
Tomorrow the boss and I are driving to western OK to visit 2 hospitals that are also affiliates of the mothership. Today my mind is mush and I just can't even think about work. Gma is muttering about what assholes we all are so, you know, business as usual.
I looked at Wal-Mart yesterday for a wading pool, thinking we could bathe the dogs without making a huge mess of the bathroom. I only found an inflatable. I don't think that would work! ?

Hi Tweety
NJ22 these are poppy seed muffins
Dianah glad you are able to go camping
Stars have you noticed a trend with her confusion?
Yesterday was busy but rather productive. Did bird watching, then made muffins. Lunch with dad, then did some online continuing education. Repotted a petunia and decided to get another one. Watched the Svengoolie movie, it was OK
Today have laundry to do. Then church, then the vestry retreat afterwards. Will end up being at church 3 or 4 hours. Will do some cooking when I get home
Will be in the low 70s today, might get a little rain
