Ado glad the visit to the retina specialist went well

Stars glad the wedding went smoothly and that's she's been quiet today

Yesterday was mostly a normal day for me.  Did bird watching in the morning before it got too hot.  Then had lunch with dad.  In the evening had the dinner with the over 50 group at The Cheesecake Factory. 10 of 11 who signed up showed up, which was pretty good.  Now I have to come up with a date and location for next month

Today will be a bit busier, given that I will spend much of Monday at the family reunion.  Will be ushering at church, and meeting my friend N for lunch.  In between will have to do the cooking and run errands and do some exercise

Will be another unusually hot day in the upper 90s

Gouda Aphternoon~

The usual suspects have been making themselves heard in my right lower back and left knee, plus where I dug out an ingrown toenail (OUCH!) on my left medial HALLUS. (I think that is one of the weirdest words!) Good thing there are no tough chores to do today except, of course Nannie's laundry. I plan on taking it easy, otherwise.

She got dressed earlier by putting yesterday's clothes on over her pajamas, so I have switched her out of all that, and into the colors of the Amurikin flag: Red, White, and Blue, with which she is quite pleased. The red sweater is just like the blue one she wore yesterday....it wraps around her (no buttons) and has POCKETS which she has to show me repeatedly how her hands go in there "just right". Always fascinated by her clothing, as if she's never seen them before. And, naturally there is always how all "conversations" end up being about her SHOES, even if they started out being about something entirely different, Always those shoes! OY!

The weather is continuing to be nasty-hot (95 with a 'feels like' of 101 degrees) and humid (71%), with no chance of rain. A very good day to stay inside!

Now that she has had her breakfast and meds, I'd just love to see the Nannie-person's eyelids getting heavier and closing. 😴 Let us pray they stay closed and she dozes off. It would be quite a relief for ME for her to go to sleep again! Had a patient once who used to tell me that falling into naps frequently during the day is "a privilege of age," which does not require any apologies. Sleep, Nannie! S-L-E-E-P !!!

Since I have nothing new to say, I'll stop here and wait for folks to show up with their posts.

Hello, all!

Neither Hubs nor I had the energy to go to church but he did go over to the nursing home to sing for the little service there. I begged off.

So far "only" 89 degrees and rather windy. I hear the wind but I also hear a "soothing" nature video that Hubs left on for Gma. It has flowing water. I really want to go play in cool water. I think I'll take a day off soon midweek and the boys and I will go to a pool.

Gma licks her fingers or sucks on them or something and the sound drives me nuts.

The guy Hubs got our sailboat from was stabbed at a farmers market yesterday morning. I think he was a vendor. His daughter says it was unprovoked. Anyway, he's had two surgeries and is still on a vent with hopes to wean him off today.

And the US bombing Iran is weighing heavily on my mind.

We are just leaving Fort Stevens Campground, near the mouth of the Columbia River. We arrived yesterday afternoon in light rain and mist. Today is sunny and a mild 62 degrees. We took the dogs to the beach, and walked around the remains of the old army fort. It apparently was fired on by Japanese subs in WWII, the only place in the continental US.
We are headed to Newport OR where we will camp for the next week, near the ocean. I love looking at the waves.
I normally like Cheesecake Factory, but ate at one in Palm Springs and got COVID shortly after. Bad memory.
I'm trying to avoid the news.

Hope your acquaintance makes a full recovery Ado.

Enjoy your outing J22.

I like Cheesecake Factory.  Lots of variety.

I had a decent weekend.  Sent someone to ICU both days for various reasons.  Staffed well and not too many admissions.  We became overstaffed both days after discharges and a nurse got to go home early.  Wish it could have been me.  LOL

I stopped for Japanese on the way home and it was delicious.  Mushroom ramen and I ordered tofu and they forgot the tofu, but I'm home now and can't make a big deal of it.  I'd call and complain but am unlikely to order from there again.  Last time I was there was years ago.

Anyway, off now for three days but have a Teams meeting at noon.  I hope to just do it from my dining room on my phone.

Have a great evening.

Nannie did not sleep much at all today. Boo!

SiL sent a message about Nannie's schedule for this week....I think it has partially been decided that she will go to daycare Tues, Weds, and Thurs. and SiL will come get her up on Tuesday AM and take her to daycare. Everything else is 'to-be-announced', because she won't know which shifts she will be working at ABC store until tomorrow.. I think they have a ring in her nose and yank on that when they need coverage. Tomorrow morning she has to go in at 6:30 AM because they have to do inventory. So, I'm going to assume I will be picking Nannie up each afternoon (grumble, mumble growl).

But,  it is now time to go upstairs and finish reading the John Lescroat (?sp?) book I have been reading. I will have to lay hold of something tomorrow, wish I could dash to the library, but I dunno if that'll be possible since Nannie will be here all day. And I refuse to take her out in the car and make her sit in the car (AC on naturally,) because it's going to be wicked hot and I don't feel like dealing with it or her, even on a short hop of a trip.

Once again I am feeling crabby. So what else is new?
