Good morning!

Hope everyone is well.

Went with best friend to see the work on his condo. It's coming along but there is much to do and no way they are going to meet their promise of being done by the 15th of July. They said they would be done by May 1st. Again, the incompetency around here is stunning.

We stopped and watched a real nice sunset.

I have some sort of food poisoning I think for the last two days. I'll leave it at that.

94 degrees with a "real-feel" of 109, and chance of rain around 3 PM; and the humidity is YUCKY percent.

I came downstairs at 5:40 AM and there was Nannie, asleep in her upright recliner. I opened the drapes and went back upstairs; she never stirred. I made myself some coffee, took my pills and went back to sleep until 11:40 PM. When I came back downstairs, Nannie was coming out of her bathroom. She had removed the saturated TENA 3X overnight pad and had already made her bed. (And it wasn't wet!!)

I sent SiL a text but have not heard back yet. I asked if she was planning on coming over to give Nannie a shower, and take her to get her nails done. She does that a lot lately, on Sundays. That was an hour and a half ago, and no answer yet. So I gave Nannie her breakfast, and then took her into the bathroom to strip off her pj's and put on some clothes. [She had two left shoes on her feet, the left foot was in a black shoe with a blue sock; the other 'left one', ie the right foot, was in the left maroon shoe, and was sockless.]

Doing more of Nannie's laundry, drinking cold coffee, and wondering about the rest of the day. Wondering if SiL is avoiding me.....ppfftt! I get the idea that she is so belabored with the rest of her life that a call from me may earn a mutter or two from her, and be unwelcome. Cynically, I am wondering what 'excuse' she will give me for the change in the usual plan. Maybe I am paranoid but she never did call me with a text of today's plan; you know what they say about people who ASSUME things, and silly me, maybe I am a silly ASSumer.

Life goes on.

Got a text back, finally, and SiL said she has been at work at the ABC store, "doing inventory." So I sent her a text back that said, "Okay. Never mind."

Although I can say with some certainty that she never told me she was working today .... maybe she can chalk it up to my poor memory. And I suppose it could also be attributed to the fact that *I* don't PAY as well as the ABC store. Too bad, so sad. Don't want to irritate the poor girl; I know they need the money.

Meanwhile, Back at the Ranch's Pool table... Tonto racked The Lone Rangers balls.

Rec'd a call from SiL saying that she felt bad yesterday at work (at ABC store) but went in to work again today to help with the inventory, and also that she has diarrhea, and then she said something about her dgt and grand-dgt and the grocery store, and that she would come over early tomorrow AM to get Nannie up for her shower, etc. Ppfftt.

Don't pay me no never-mind, I'm just here for the duration. Yuh.

Thankfully my food poisoning symptoms have stopped. I even went to yoga and went across the bay to Tampa where they have a good Indian/South Asian market I like. Then went to the East Asian market across the street. Got some good stuff and some junk. I have a fondness for Indian pickle, although they are very salty. (BP today was 129/86).

Because you want to know I got my new headsets and they were nearly fully charged and connected to my phone immediately. Took me all of 60 seconds so the prior one was definitely defective. I like Amazon's policy of just replacing it before they get the defective one back.

Have some laundry going but going to chill the rest of the day.

It's hot . I'm hot. Don't want to do anything. I started watching "Rear Window" on Netflix. I'd forgotten how beautiful Grace Kelly was. And what a stunning costume designer Edith Head was.

It's hot here. But then, it IS Summer.

Yesterday we had a nice Mexican food lunch with old friends (from Before Kids days).

Today we had a pre-birthday lunch with oldest ds -- sushi. Nice visit. Exchanged current and recent streaming history. At his recommendation, we are watching Knives Out. I hope he watches the German version of Professor T. 🙂

Nannie has been a restless, misbehaving NOODGE all afternoon and evening. Wonder if I can 'trade her in' for a different patient for a while? Sometimes I want to pound my fists against my skull, but I don't want what the football and soccer guys get in their heads from abrupt collisions. I get so frustrated with her, but no sense in expecting anything different with her brain withering a little more every day. But I resent MY brain going around and around every single day and night. I'm good at controlling myself until just after suppertime. Yeh, so I'm a sundowner, I reckon.

She has started climbing out of her recliner with the footrest up and she got extremely po'd at me when I'd tell her NOT to do that....#1.) she will eventually break the footrest, and #2.) she is not steady. but seems to think she is just fine. I said, okay, fine, do what you want to do whenever you want to do it, and if I have to call the ambulance to come and get you up, I will. She got in and out of that chair over 1/2 dozen times....inspecting the photos of her and her husband, and other photos. She almost fell several times, but I stayed planted on the sofa. She went in the bathroom on her own, but didn't do anything, and had herself partially undressed. I said, "Are you going to bed?" No, she wasn't. I just put her clothes back on and put her back in the recliner. Finally at about 9:30 she said she thought she probably should go to bed. So I went to get her up out of her chair and she said, "Where are we going?" I told her SHE was going to the bathroom and then to the bed. "Oh, Am I going to bed?" ......"Yes, you are, whether you want to or not."

Thank goodness SiL is coming in the AM to shower and dress her and take her to the Senior center. Good riddance!

I'm going up to my retreat for some peace and quiet and NO Nannie-ness going on!
