Ado it is amazing  how much  one can accumulate

NJ22 I like gin and tonic too

Happy birthday Stars!  Glad you're feeling somewhat better now, and I'm glad he didn't hurt himself in that fall

Hi toomuchbaloney, sirI, Tweety

Got to the arboretum yesterday morning, then drove to Indiana for my nephew's graduation party

Was a nice time, they had a good crowd there, mostly friends of my nephew and his family.  Only a few people from my side of the family were able to make it, and many were delayed due to bad traffic

My dad and his ladyfriend had a radiator problem on the way there and had to call a tow truck.  Thankfully they weren't too far away at the time, and they were planning to say overnight in a hotel.  I went and drove them from the garage to the hotel before I left, got home an hour later than I had planned

But then I found that my dad had left the bag with his medications in my car.  Called my brother in law and he met me at a point halfway to his house and picked up the bag, so I didn't have to drive all  the way back

Today hopefully will be quieter, am reading at church then have a meeting,  hopefully brief, after church.  Will do the cooking once I get home

Will be another warm day in the  mid 80s here

Good morning. Our weather stays mild and dry. The fields and forests are getting crispy-dry and wild fire is a constant concern. We saw a fire in the interstate median on the way back from Seattle this week. The grass was probably ignited by a passing car.

We went to see the Indiana Jones movie last night. It was good, but long. The theatre has many screens and it was busy! We saw lots of girls and ladies dressed in hot pink, presumably going to the Barbie movie. I have no interest in seeing it, although I did play with Barbies as a child. I had the one with the blond pony-tail, and the black and white striped swimsuit. I'm sure she had other clothes, but that swimsuit sticks in my mind.

I rode my bike to breakfast but had ds give me a lift home. My tummy is a bit unsettled (perhaps too much popcorn) and  [TMI warning] I didn't want to have an accident on the way home.

Joe, that sounds like a lot of car time. That is pretty cool that you went to support your nephew. I am guessing this is the one that is into theatre?

Where is Dianah? Perhaps she is on a camping trip? I am wondering how they are doing with the heat.

Ah, accumulating stuff. It's been my personal mission in the last year to start shedding stuff. I have gotten rid of a lot of clothes, and Christmas decorations. I need to shed some more books, and some dishes.

I gave myself a pat on the back yesterday, by getting my vacuum unclogged. perhaps I'll tackle the ice maker in my fridge. Dh changed the filter a couple of weeks ago, and the ice maker just quit working. I think I just need to empty the freezer, let it warm up and thaw, and it should be okay. Fingers crossed.

Good Morning, except it isn't morning...

J22~ You are "handier than a side-pocket" as they say here in the South: an appliance repair person, and all of that! Makes me think of the Smother's Brothers song "My Old Man" in which one verse they sing, "My old man's a refrigerator-repairman, now what do you think about that!" And it goes on until Tommy sings, "My old man's a cotton-pickin' finger-lickin' chicken-plucker, now what do you think about that!" And Dickie says, "You better not make a mistake!" // I had a Barbie-doll, but I can't remember what color hair it had. I do remember the bl.+wh. swimsuit and the most ridiculously tiny high-heel shoes that always fell off. Actually, I am from the generation prior to Barbie where there were "Ginny Dolls" (They were shorter and had flat chests.) Didn't really 'play' with them, though. I wasn't a doll-person.

Joe, you are a driver and a half! And, as my mother would've said, "You're a GOOD kid." Hope the after-church meeting is short. IMHO there are too many meetings in the world; I was reading on-line that meetings, and particularly the ones involving "everybody in the office" being on-line, take up more time than anybody wants to give, and more importantly to the business, the mtgs prevent their actual work from getting done. (I'm so glad I am retired!)

I woke up from a dream in which I went to visit someone who I wasn't supposed to be seeing (?), who was in the hospital. Then we were running, not sure if it was away or toward, and I woke up saying out loud, "Please God! Please God!"....?  Make of it what you will; I have thought of 2-3 'meanings' Kind of have always been interested in dream study, and have 15 notebooks of several years-worth of dreams, and at least half-dozen of dream-interpretation books, but not the kind where if you dream about a toaster-oven or whatever, it supposedly means something totally ridiculous. Anyway, the good part of it causing me to wake up was that I woke up in time to get Nannie up and get seated to see the baseball game.

Naturally, It will be hot today with the possibility of thunderstorms. Nannie just doesn't understand how clouds move and that's why it is overcast one moment, and "it sure is bright out there!" the next moment. smh.

I have to finish filling out a form for the PA who I see tomorrow morning about my left shoulder. (at 9 AM! What was I thinking?) And I have an appt w/ the psychologist Dr. L. on Tuesday, but I haven't 'done' my homework yet so I should prolly start a little of that....

But meanwhile, the game is on.....

Later, yez guyz ~

Enjoy the game, Stars. Yes what were you thinking planning a 9am appointment? I (still) need to go have labs drawn but have to be fasting and it's 25 minutes away. I keep saying I'm going to do it "before work" one of these days.

Stubbed my toe hard this morning and it's blue and sore. Soon we can go move into the hotel for a couple of days. Hubs didn't volunteer to have Gma pay for it.

The party for Hubs' friend who turned 75 was fun although we didn't stay terribly long because we needed to get back to get Gma to bed.

My sister's Barbie (that I also played with) came with the black-and-white striped swimsuit. I had a Malibu Barbie. Somewhere I have a picture of my Barbie in a dress my mother made for her. I'll try to find it. My friends and I did play with the Barbie dolls. I don't know that I'm especially interested in seeing the movie.

I do want to see both Oppenheimer and the Indiana Jones movie. Hubs (who used to love going to movies) is not too interested in going out to see them anymore. The boys like to go. They report that the prices have increased a lot.

Good evening.

AMC has cheap movies on Tuesdays here which is when I usually go.  I want to be Barbie.  It's getting good reviews.  Margo Robbie who stars has Barbie has had some big budget bombs so glad this is going well for her.  Oppenheim is on the list too.  I think both are doing gangbusters at the box office this weekend.  I'm glad to see people still going to the movies after covid.

Too tired to make dinner so I went and got fast food Chinese on the way home.  It was good.

dammit x 20!!

He was wobbling going upstairs so I got up and went behind him holding onto his waistband, which made him !! mad !! Then once he was up and standing on the kitchen floor, he said "I can do this" so I left him so he could climb the 6 steps to the next level. He apparently went in my room to sit on the footstool, and fell on his butt. Missed the foot stool by 4". I had to fold a sheet and stuff it under his butt so I could help him raise his sorry orifice up so he could get on his knees, and help him haul himself up. He then decided he had to go into the bathroom. He got there and reached for the doorknob on the (hollow wood) door and scraped along his back and elbow on the edge of the woodwork round the sink and fell on his butt again. I cussed a blue streak, told him he has no sense of his body at all. Got his business taken care of and walked him into his room and had him sit on the side of his bed. Told him "DON'T even THINK about moving. I have to go put Nannie to bed and I don't want to go down there and hear you fall again!" So I got Nannie in bed and went back upstairs and he's sitting on the edge of the bed, but he is holding the nasal canula tubing up in front of him.... because he forgot how to put it on. Every night I have to show him,  and repeat what I am doing, and try to get his hands to coordinate so he can loop the tubing over his ears. I told him he has no common sense at all and no sense of the fact that his body is f'd up and unable to do what he THINKS he can do. Except I know he's drunk and not thinking at all.

Well, I have to go up to my room and take my meds because I have to get up to go to that 9 AM appt.
