Star hope she slept for at least part of yesterday

Hi NJ22

Tweety glad work was OK

Dianah my dad continues to do well. Didn't end up doing the hike

Was going to go to a new forest preserve yesterday, but found it was closed.  Ran errands instead, dropped some food off at the cat shelter, then stopped at the grocery store and pet store.  Had lunch with dad.  In the evening exercised and worked on plans to get together with my friends B and N later this month.  Got my hotel room for when dad and I visit my aunt in March

Today will start a crock pot recipe before going to church.  Will go a bit early as I'll be ushering.  Will finish the recipe after I get home, and exercise and do some cleaning

Will be in the mid 30s again, I think it will be warmer during the week

It's a rainy, rainy day here!

I went to the grocery store and then to the HFS, as the grocery store didn't have the red lentils I wanted (they usually do).  While at the HFS, I got some new herbal TEAS to try.  Now I'm home and just made some lentil stew/soup (depends on how it thickens as to what it will be 😉 ), and I have two yams in the oven, baking.  One load of wash is done, and another is probably dry and ready to be brought in and folded.

Not much else going on here.  The local State Route 38, that we usually take to go to the mountains (Big Bear Lake in particular) was washed out some 4-6 months ago, with some storm.  I mean, WASHED OUT at a particular area.  It made a curve into the mountain, and apparently a deluge of water and debris came down and created a gully where once a road stood!!  CalTrans has been hard at work fixing the area.  Meanwhile, folks who need to get back and forth from Big Bear area take a long, circuitous route to get down into the valley or back up to the mountain area.  SR 38 was opened the day before Christmas, till tomorrow (1/5) for holiday traffic, without construction delays.  However, tomorrow it will be closed M-F, 7-5, due to continued construction.  It will be open in the evenings and on weekends without construction delays.

Our favorite mountain camping area has been closed for two years, after a tropical storm wiped out roads and campsites in that area.  Now, this with the SR 38, which we take to get there!  I hope the Forest Service has been working to get the campground going again, we miss going up there.  First world woes, yes.  We live in an arid area, not used to downpours and big storms.

Well, that's it from here.  Have a good evening!

G'day.

They pulled two nurses to float today so I was not a "free charge".  But it was okay anyway.

Tomorrow is my follow up appointment post op which will only take a few minutes as I'm doing well.  I'll find out when I can go back to the gym, yoga and bowling.  I miss those activities.

Otherwise okay.

I had been a little worried about my sister and was determined to call her today. Before I did, her son texted that she is in ICU (may leave ICU tonight). She had been treated recently for a UTI but yesterday when nephew got home she was lethargic and disoriented so he called an ambulance. Nephew says her urine was clear but WBC 22 so there's infection somewhere. BP has been soft and lactic acid was high. They're doing an EGD in the morning. (She also had a recent dx of a small hiatal hernia. Other than that, I am unclear on the reason for the EGD.)

So I will see what happens but will probably go to San Antonio for a few days.

Ado, I hope your sister improves with treatment, and that the medical team is able to correctly diagnose the issues.

Tweety, I hope you get a good report tomorrow, and can resume your usual activities.  We do like our routine, and activities that contribute to our well-being!
