What a night! Woke up an hour after I turned out my light, then hourly after that, then by about 5:30 AM I had been aching for quite a while. It was too early to take my meds, so I finally got up and started slapping (applying) those Lidocaine patches on my lower back, right lateral hip, knee, and shin, and my left knee and shoulder. It mostly helped, so at least I could go back to sleep. A while later, the phone rang, but I was laying on my right side and didn't hear it, until when I turned back over and heard the little 'beep' meaning "you've got mail." But all it was was the TV-WiFi company telling me my bill was due soon. Yah, yah, it's due TOMORROW, so why did their computer feel it was necessary to call me about it so early on a Sunday morning?!!
Anyway, it was time to get up, since I was quite awake, .... so I took my AM meds and made a big cup of coffee. Fed Momo her breakfast. I have her down to being fed once a day, like the vet said I should, but she did still have her 'bedtime snack' last night, so she was happy with that.
When I came down to the den and saw the light flashing on the dehumidifier "EMPTY", that's just what I did. I had emptied it last night before I went to bed, as it was half full. This morning it was so full it sloshed when I pulled the container out. Nice to know it actually works! The last time I ran it (before this rain episode), it didn't have a drop of water in it at all. So, I am thrilled NOT to have to do the "throw-the-towels-down-to- staunch-the-flow-of-water (dry and repeat!)" routine I was stuck doing last time. What a relief!
I have been trying to get 'disciplined' and not just throw my stuff down so I don't make a mess in my new room. I do have an entire basket of clean/folded laundry to put away. I was too tired to deal with it last night. I should make my bed, too.
Not sure of the weather today; I think, since it is still overcast, maybe we are due for some more rain. I haven't checked the weather report yet. And since it is cool here in the den, I have turned on the electric fireplace and ceiling fan, as well as having the dehumidifier running again. There is still a little time left before I have to go in and 'wake the dragon', so to speak. Guess I ought to go upstairs and get dressed first. I will be so glad when I can have a whole/entire day off from my daily Nannie-routine. It is not 'hard work', but it is tedious. Will see, soon, if Nannie's bedding needs to be changed and laundered again. (Have I mentioned how I really intensely dislike being a 'house-wife'? Yuh, I know I have!!)
Maybe I'll become inspired enough to clean out the refrigerator today, which STILL, these 3 months later, has the spills that were courtesy of hubby. Prolly about time to take care of that. But who knows if I will tackle that today or not? I am not sure, myself!
Okay, all for now (she said, dragging her mental feet.)
Laydah, y'all!
Sometimes I just get tired of sorting the laundry into smaller loads, and when I reach that wall, I just jam everything into the washer, set it on "YIKES THAT'S A LOT OF LAUNDRY" and add two rinse cycles.
I'm feel kind of dense in the brain right now.... I did not understand "the lady step of folding arms stashing..." I read it more than a few times and I am still clueless. Might you pleeze E-lou-sid-ate?
Right now, Nannie is sewing the air again. I had to take the recliner's remote control away from her because she was trying to sew it and I was afraid she'd yank it out. She said she was trying to find the instructions on how to fix it, and there was no button she could find that said 'fix'. Imagine that! She then tried to pull the underpads corner out from under her to wipe her eyes. I told her to look on the table beside her chair and get a folded paper towel. She looked at her right hand, and I said,"Look on the table". She looked at her left hand and I repeated, "Look on the table right beside you."and she looked over the other side of the chair and searched the floor. S oI had to ask, "Where is your lamp?" and when she pointed at it (it's a TABLE-lamp!) and I said "What do you see down beside the base of the lamp?" She picked up the folded paper towel, and said "This. Why did you want me to do with it?" I was nice and merely said, "You were looking for something to wipe your eyes with." And she said, "I was?" A while ago she was sitting with her eyes closed and she pulled up her right pant leg and then pulled it back down, four times. Then it was the left pant leg, three times, accompanied by a "TSK!" Okaaaaay. That time I didn't even ask what she was doing!
We got the first wave of atmospheric river last night. Half of the front yard and most of the backyard was covered in water. Once the rain stopped, quite a bit drained off. But now the rain has resumed and will continue through to midnight. The river is predicted to reach minor flood stage at midnight. I am glad we live on top of a hill.
I went out to do a little yard cleanup. Eldest ds came by on his bicycle. Stopped to say hi, and dry his socks in the dryer. dh was asleep, so didn't stay long. I am driving sis to seattle in the morning for a 3 day hospital stay to start an antiarrythmic for her atrial fib. When I started it, I did it outpatient and drove down 3 days in a row for a 12 lead. But that was in the thick of COVID. I hope it's not raining, still. On the way home I need to go by the county auditor's office to get a new ballot. My mail-in one got too wet and the return envelope fell apart.
We went to see "American Fiction" at the theatre Friday night. We enjoyed it, but I would recommend watching it at home instead of paying for admission, We stopped to get dinner and I had a lovely "avo-Cobb-o salad". Which was a cobb salad with avocado on it. So big that I brought 2/3 home for breakfast and lunch yesterday.

Ado here's hoping she tolerates the medication well
Tweety glad the trip is going well
Did go out bird watching briefly yesterday, but it was wet and foggy and there were relatively few birds
Had lunch with dad and spend time editing the dating profile. Then went to the potluck and storytelling event with the gay group. The stories were (mostly) good and the storytellers pretty experienced, was a somewhat smaller group than usual. Talked with one of the new group members who also likes bird watching and hiking, we may meet and so some of that once Spring arrives. Came home and began watching La Boheme, which so far is pretty good. The performance is from the 70s with a young Pavarotti
Today church is an hour early for the annual meeting, will go a bit early to bring the cake. After that will likely finish LaBoheme, work on more dating related stuff, do the cooking for the week, and exercise
Will be in the upper 30s, rain and fog should hold off for today
